“You’re so sweet, baby. Okay, last time. You ready?”
“Uh huh!”
I knocked on the door before she did whatever crazy shit she was about to do to hurt herself. Everything got real quiet, so I knew she had told Kari to be quiet.
“Bunny, open the door.” About twenty seconds went by before I heard the locks clicking and her pretty ass face emerged with the chain still on the door.
“What do you want, Ahmad?”
“Bunny, open this door. I don’t want to have to act a fool out here.”
“Mommy, is that Mr. Ahmad? Let him in, Mommy!” Bunny rolled her eyes and sneered at me before she opened the door and Rabbit ran to me, jumping into my arms. Her big bushel of hair covered my face as she hugged me around my neck.
“Mr. Ahmad! You came to get us!”
“Makari, we’re having a sleepover, remember? A girl’s night with just us.”
“But Mr. Ahmad can stay too! Can you, Mr. Ahmad?”
“Nah, Rabbit. I just came to talk to Mommy right quick. I’ll see you back at the house, cool?”
“Okay!” She kissed my cheek then wiggled out of my embrace and hopped back on the bed, picking up the tablet I bought her as well.
“We’re going to be right outside, okay, baby? Put your headphones on.”
“Okay, Mommy.”
Bunny stepped out, making sure to put the door stopper in the door. As soon as she turned to me, I yanked her ass up and threw my tongue in her mouth. I could tell I caught her off guard because she tensed but then relaxed and kissed me back. My palms went to her ass and I squeezed her soft cheeks. A few seconds later, I pulled away and glared at her. Her eyes were still closed, seemingly still reeling from the kiss.
“What the fuck is your problem?”
Her eyes popped open as she looked at me confused. “W-what?”
“I said what the fuck is your problem? You think shit is sweet out here now? You think because I got your baby daddy that it’s safe for you to be out here all willy nilly as if you’re home free?”
“First of all, don’t talk to me like that.” Her teeth gritted as she spoke to me.
“Why would you leave?”
“I-I needed a break. I told you what my situation was and how I had been held captive. I couldn’t do it another day, or I was going to lose my mind!”
“Look, just give me another week and you’ll be free to do whatever the fuck you want to do. Until then, you need to sit your ass down somewhere and relax. Ain’t no telling what shit you was doing in here that could have your ass in a cast this time.”
She giggled. “You’re not my father, Ahmad. I get what you mean by me just leaving like that, but I’m fine. I have the gun you gave me. Besides, when you left this morning, you didn’t seem to care, so don’t care now.”
“So that’s what this is really about? Because I was giving you the silent treatment, you want to act petty and dip out on a nigga and have me worried to fucking death?”
“Well, you shouldn’t have acted like a fucking child and said what was on your mind! I’m not a mind reader.”
“Yeah, but you sure don’t have a problem with speaking your mind.”
“What is that even supposed to mean?”
“I understand how unorthodox meeting you was or is for that matter, but since I’ve had you, have I harmed you in any way? Put my hands on you in any other way than to bring you pleasure? I’m putting my life on the line just so you and baby girl can finally go back to living a normal life, and not once have I even thought about never seeing you again. But it’s so easy for you to do that, right?”
“Ahmad—”
“It’s cool, Bunny. You had me in my feelings for a minute, but I’m good now. I just wanted to make sure y’all were good. I’ll have someone come in the morning to thoroughly clean this room and put security detail on you until this all blows over. It was a pleasure getting to know you and Rabbit. I’ll let you know when it’s over.”
