She presses a hand to her chest and sniffles. “You really do love me, don’t you?”
“More than life,” I say honestly, tightening my hand around the plug. And I do love her that much. Love her more than words or life can comprehend.
Suddenly, clarity washes over me.

She steps into me as I subtly shift to one knee.

I smile. She’s so fucking cute.
“Then marry me,” I demand, holding up the plug so only the butterfly is showing. I clear my throat as the first sob wracks her nude body. “A wise man once told me that the biggest mistake he made was not marrying the love of his life—”
“He doesn't sound like a wise man to me,” she interrupts, choking out an ugly sob. “He sounds stupid.”
Nodding, I grip her hand, pressing a kiss to the back of it. “You’re right. He was stupid. He didn’t marry her, and I refuse to make that mistake.”
I present her the butt plug, mentally vowing to go out and buy her a massive ring in the morning.
“You deserve true love, Story Bates, and I’m going to give it to you. I’ll give you the fairytale. The ending you deserve. But more than that, I’ll give you the in between. I’ll give you mornings with coffee and our kids laughter. Late night orgasms and cuddles. I’ll give you smiles, safety and joy. I’ll give you a life worth writing about in a romance novel.” I pull her into my chest, wrapping my arms around her body. “I’ll give you a happily ever after. Will you marry me, bed bug?”
She sniffles, choking out another snotty sob. “On one condition.”
I grin, wiping my tears on her growing belly. “Anything.”
“You promise to always keep me creamy.”
Chuckling, I kiss her baby bump. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
