“I'm going to get fired,” I shook my head slowly as I turned around. “You know what, I'm going to offset the whorish vibe of the dress with some sensible loafers.”

“You better not try it,” she said. “How embarrassing. Didn't your boss tell you to dress this way in order to impress the clients?”

“Up until this morning, he didn’t care that they existed so I don't think that's the case at all. If anything, they're the ones to impress him.”

“Whatever,” she said. “Just don't wear loafers. Wear heels. Sandals. You took some along, didn't you?”

“Just in case, I brought a black pair.”

“Not the best, but it's what you have, and you'll be able to walk in it so go with those.”

I quickly put them on as per her instruction but had no further time to chat.

“Okay, I have to go now,” I said.

“Take off the jacket,” she yelled, but I ended the call, grabbed my briefcase, and headed toward the connecting door. I pushed it open without thinking and just then saw him seated on the bed and on a phone call in nothing but a towel around his waist.

At first, I was confused because I couldn't understand what I was doing here and why I had come through this door. I wasn't thinking straight, but now that I was and at his annoyed look, I immediately retreated and apologized profusely. I slammed the door shut and locked it behind me. Then I leaned against the surface and tried to catch my breath.

What was wrong with me today? It was as though I had lost all of my brain cells along the way. I literally couldn't think straight and avoid mistakes, and it was freaking driving me nuts.

I didn't know what to do now, so I headed over to the bed and took a seat dejectedly. About ten minutes later, there was a message on my phone.

“Where are you?”

Instantly, I jumped up, headed out through my own door this time around, and met him in the hallway waiting. I lost my breath.

He was in a tweed blazer with a crisp dress shirt and dark pants. They fit his muscular body in a way that couldn't be explained, and I found my nipples hardening even further at the sight.

His hair was a bit damp but slicked away from his face, and his blue eyes were so piercing and intense that my heart began to race.

Fuck, he looked good. He looked so good that all I could think about was blowing off this dinner and getting down on my knees to suck him off. I had imagined it several times in the past. Too many times, even, but I couldn't stop. I would do anything to suck his cock as long as it didn’t involve losing my job, and then I would thank him for the opportunity afterward. That was how incredibly infatuated and impressed with him I was.

“Why the jacket?” he suddenly asked, and I immediately came back to my senses.

I looked down then but couldn't quite say the truth. That the dress I was wearing was too revealing and that it covered me up.

“Um... it fit,” I said. “Plus, I'm worried that I might get cold later on.”

“No, you won’t,” he said. “It's the middle of summer. It's pretty warm.”

I stared at him then and didn’t know what to say.

“Take it off,” he said, “and if you get cold, you can have my jacket.”

With that, he turned around and continued heading down the hallway towards the elevator. I watched him walk away then but truly had to wonder why he was suddenly so interested in my appearance. Was this because we were in a different country? Did he care that I was more or less as stiff as he was, and he was just trying to get me to let my hair down like him? I couldn’t understand. However, as always, he had given the order, and I had to obey. So, quickly so that I wouldn’t keep him waiting, I reopened my door, tossed the jacket inside, and hurried over to join him in waiting for the elevator.

Chapter Seven

Hunter

She was breathtaking. Whatever I had imagined she would look like when dressed up, she blew all of my expectations out of the water and exceeded them. I couldn't quite believe this was the same person who had been wearing the dreariest and most oversized clothes since the day she had started working for me. In a way, I almost regretted insisting that she do this because after seeing her in this way, I didn’t know how I would be able to revert to not noticing her as a woman. Thus far, she had simply been my secretary, but now... well, that had been blown to bits.

Still, I had ample control of myself, so I didn't gawk or stare, but it was difficult to not notice the curve of her body. She seemed like she worked out. Her arms and abdomen were so impressively toned, and I was even more astounded.

“Do you go to the gym regularly?” I asked as the elevator headed down towards the ground floor.

She turned to glance at me then but couldn’t quite meet my gaze.
