I open the door, and pause. “Jade,” I say in shock. “What are you doing here? I thought you were coming over tomorrow.” I stand in front of her so she can’t come in, but I know her well enough to know that she will.

"I can't come tomorrow, so I thought I’d come see you today.” She takes a step to the right, and I block her path. "Trey, move out of the way."

"Before you come in, can I have a quick word?” Shit, I thought I had time to think of how I was going to tell her about Sky; how I was going to introduce her. I'm not embarrassed to be with Sky, I can't wait to show her off to anyone that cares, but my family are only going to see her color, and call her a gold digger.

“Sure, what are you hiding in there?”

I close the door a little as I take a step outside. “You see, the things is, I wanted you to come over tomorrow because I wanted to introduce you to my girlfriend, I—”

“Girlfriend, since when?” she asks, her jaw tightening. She folds over her chest, and her eyes widen as she stares me down

“It’s new, but I really like her. She’s—”

"Move out the way,” Jade demands. She pushes me and walks into the house. "And she's white." I knew this was going to be the first thing they all see, but I don't. I saw a girl with a body that took my breath away, and the second I saw her eyes, she had me.

"Jade, this is Sky. Sky, this is my sister, one of two."

“So nice to meet you, I was—”

“So, trying to get your five minutes of fame?” Jade snap, cutting her off. She glances at me, then back to Sky. “How much money are you after?”

“Jade.” I stop the moment she puts her hand up.

Sky looks over at me, then back to Jade. “I don’t want his money,” she replies. “I have a job, I make my own money, and I really don’t want people to know that we’re dating.”

Jade looks at me again, shaking her head at me. “You know Ma isn’t going to like this, and good luck with Madison.” She walks over to me. “Can we talk in private?”

Usually, I’d say yes, but that’ll show her that I'm not serious about Sky. "How about we all have some coffee?” I look over at Sky as I move closer to Jade. "I really like her, just give her a chance.” I whisper.

“Fine.”

We walk over to the kitchen, and they both sit at the table as I make some coffee. "I'm doing this for my brother, so don't think for one minute that I like you yet. So, where do you work?”

"I work as an air hostess. I travel between England and America. I was in Seattle, then my friend surprised me by booking me two weeks off work to celebrate my birthday." Sky looks over at me. "Trey told me you're pregnant, congratulations."

Jade just watches her for a moment. “Thank you, so how long do you stay for when you get here?” God, she’s going to ask a hundred questions now.

“About four days, then I go back to England. There for four or five days, then back over.”

“So, when do you plan on seeing Trey?” Jade asks.

“We...the conversation...we’re-”

"We haven't spoken that far yet. Sky’s here for two weeks, then we’ll go from there," I answer as I notice Sky starting to get a little worried.

“Give me your phone.” Jade puts her hand out in front of me.

"I don't follow any of Sky’s social media, so you can’t check up on her. Besides, you follow me on everything, and would’ve known if I’d posted about us," I tell her. I know what she's doing; she wants to see if we’ve been flaunting our relationship everywhere.

“I want to check her phone.” Jade looks at me.

“No, it’s—”

“Here you go,” Sky says, holding out her phone. “I only have Instagram. Facebook and Twitter I don’t get.” She giggles, making me smile, and I lean in to give her a kiss.

Jade gives me a look, then looks down at the phone. “Are you on a quick fix? Get knocked up-—” Jade stops as Sky starts laughing, even I’m looking at her.

“There's no way I'm having any babies for at least two, maybe three years, and I want to be married first. Plus, I love my job too much to leave it,” Sky replies.
