“Here, here,” someone said and raised a beer.

“Everyone here has contributed in some way or another to the success of EHM. First and foremost, let me say how happy we are…” Aidan took a moment and cleared his throat. “Let me say how happy we are to have Patrick with us and on the road to recovery.”

Everyone cheered and clapped and embarrassed the fuck out of me. I wanted to crawl under the table, but just managed a smile and a wave.

“Are you gonna be able to play this year?” Declan asked.

“Let me answer that,” Simon said, standing from his seat. “No.”

He sat back down and everyone laughed.

“He did the same thing to me,” Jackson added, looking at me. “He’s a hardass, and you aren’t going to want to do what he says, but he’s right. Just trust him.”

“I second that,” Alex replied. “Kept me out of the Orlando game in the first round of the playoffs with a minor concussion.”

“If I’d had my way, he never would have played again,” Christian added. “But you can see, three Super Bowl rings later, that I didn’t get my way.”

“Well, there ya go,” Aidan replied, then turned his attention back to me. “Do you want to say anything?”

I glanced at Cole, but didn’t stand. I didn’t care to be the center of attention any longer. “Your support has meant everything to us.” I reached for Cole’s hand. “We’ve had a difficult year, but we’re working on all of that. Thank you for just being there to support us. It means more than we can say.”

“Anything you need, you let us know,” Aidan replied. “And Greer’s already called me.”

I smiled and nodded to acknowledge what he’d said when Daredevil grunted under his breath.

“He’s not that bad,” Dreamboat said to him.

He scoffed. “Then you fucking go with him.”

I looked at Cole, who curled his lips in to keep from smiling.

“Anyway, in further news, we are almost ready to finalize the second leg beginning the late summer tour for Fallen Angel. The huge success of the first leg here on the West Coast has made booking venues much easier. At the same time, it’s also increased our need for more security, which is good.”

Aidan gestured for Jesse to take over. “I’m looking to add at least two more security specialists. Right now I’m looking for someone to work with Phantom on the road. Someone who can provide additional security for the guys.” He looked at me and raised his brows.

“I’ve hired another Navy man who brings a unique set of skills to the mix. I’ll introduce him to everyone at a later date.”

“Say it ain’t so,” Dreamboat whined.

Jesse laughed and wiggled his brows at him. “Hired him just for you, Dreamy.”

Dreamboat flipped him the bird, making everyone laugh.

“The commander will keep things… interesting,” Jesse smiled at his little inside joke and Michael snorted. There was definitely more to that story.

“Commander Dickhead,” Dreamboat mumbled under his breath. “I should have never…”

Jesse laughed and went on. “That’s all I have right now, so please go eat more. And thank you Claire and Magda for all the desserts.”

She smiled and dipped her head. But Cole wasn’t watching or paying attention. He turned and looked at me with wide-eyed hope in his eyes. “Was he offering you that job?”

I put my arm around his chair and leaned into him before glancing back over at where Jesse was talking to Dominick. “Seemed like it. But I’m not sure that’s me.”

He closed the distance and kissed my cheek. “I want you with me when we tour. In whatever capacity you want to give me.”

Aidan walked up and pulled out a chair. “Sorry to interrupt. But I wanted to let you know that Stephanie Taylor requested an exclusive interview on the Sports Network.”

I frowned. “About the accident?”
