“Yes, all $100 million.”

“It’s a small price to pay to get your son back, isn’t it?” King Besada said. “Bring his son,” he said to one of his men.

The crown prince of Al Habuara was brought into the room moments later. King Abas rose to his feet and wrapped his arms around his son. He looked so happy to get his son back. That was a lesson he was never going to forget. The peace treaty he had signed meant that he couldn’t start a war with El Sourial and that he couldn’t try to take their land.

Kiro felt relieved after King Abas and his son had left. Finally the entire thing was over. “That was a lot of money,” he said to his father.

“Abas is lucky that I didn’t demand more. What an amateur. He failed to kidnap you. All I did was show him how it’s done,” said King Besada. Kiro smiled and nodded.

“Have you given a thought to my marriage with Emma?” Kiro asked his father. The king sighed deeply before he responded.

“Your mother has been looking into Emma’s life.”

“What?”

“She checked if she had a criminal past, if her family had a criminal past, health checks, employment history and everything else about everyone around Emma. Your mother even knows what Emma’s blood type is.” The king laughed.

“So what was her verdict?” Kiro asked.

“If you love Emma so much, won’t you consider having her as a concubine?”

Kiro crossed his eyebrows. “Absolutely not,” he replied. His father nodded.

“Then I will give you my blessing,” he said.

“Really?” Kiro’s face lit up.

“As long as she promises to learn everything about our culture.”

“Thank you so much.”

The king nodded. “I don’t mind her too much. She saved your life, and she showed character at the dinner table. She was polite and she wasn’t intimidated by me. I could sense the sincerity when she talked about her feelings for you,” he said.

“She is a special woman.” Kiro rose to his feet. “I am off to Dallas to get my woman back.”

Kiro had been anxious for the duration of the flight from El Sourial to Dallas. He couldn’t wait to see Emma and let her know that his father had approved their marriage. He felt as though they had been separated for months.

It was night when he arrived at her house. He felt nervous about seeing her family. Emma had previously told Kiro that her mother had doubts about him. She wasn’t sure if he was genuine or not. He hoped that her mother would not object to their marriage. Kiro took a deep breath before he pressed the doorbell.

“Who are you?” a blond girl with grey eyes said to Kiro. She looked so much like Emma. He recognized her from the pictures Emma had shown him.

“You must be Cynthia,” said Kiro.

“I am but who are you?”

“Kiro.”

Cynthia’s eyes widened. “Mia! Mom! Emma!” she shouted. Kiro raised his eyebrows. Cynthia smiled at him and opened the door wider. “Come in,” she said.

“Thank you,” Kiro said as he walked in. Mia and Emma rushed down the stairs.

“Where is the fire?” Emma said as she came down the stairs. She gasped when she saw Kiro. She immediately ran into his arms. Kiro held her tightly and kissed the top of her head.

“This must be Kiro,” Mia said as she crossed her arms over her chest.

“It is,” Emma replied.
