“Etta, it’s time to get up,” I say again, peppering kisses over her cheeks and eyes and nose as she slowly blinks herself awake.

“Oz,” she croaks sleepily.

“Good morning, wife,” I say, pressing another kiss to her lips.

“Hey,” she says on a yawn. “I’m so tired.”

“I wish we could stay in bed, but we need to start setting up for the barbecue.”

Her nose wrinkles, and I smile.

“It was your idea. I’ll stay in bed, and you can go set up,” she says, yawning again as she flops to her side, giving me her back.

“I have to go back to work in the morning, I want to spend every moment until then together.”

“Then go back to sleep,” she says, slapping her hand behind her until she finds my arm and pulls it over her waist.

“You’re that tired?” I question.

“So tired,” she says, yawning for the third time.

“Okay, baby, sleep,” I whisper, pressing a soft kiss to her neck as I slip out of bed.

Two hours later, I slow to a stop outside my house, kill my truck’s engine, and slip from the driver’s seat. Buying food for dozens of people was harder than I expected, especially because the only person I actually care about feeding is Etta. Once I got to town and realized I had no fucking clue how to shop for a vegetarian, I called Tori and begged her to come and help. Instead, she sent Nero and a list.

My truck bed is piled high with food and beer, barbecue coals, and everything else I could think of, and as I stare at it, I realize I haven’t bought anywhere near enough ice to keep the beer cool.

“Yo, bro, you need some help?” Danny shouts, stepping out of his open garage and jogging toward me.

“Thanks, I have no idea where I’m even putting all of this,” I say with a chuckle, grimacing a little when I look back at the mountain of food.

“Food in the kitchen, beer and everything else in the garage?” Danny asks with a shrug.

“Yeah, sounds good.” Laughing, I reach in and pull out a huge box of salad and veggies, then carry them over to the front door. Unlocking it, I step inside and find a sleepy-looking Etta nursing a glass of juice. She’s only wearing one of my shirts that’s hanging sexily off her shoulders, her legs bare and begging to be touched.

“You’re here,” she says, her whole face lighting up with delight.

“Aww, Little One, did you miss me?”

“I woke up and you were gone, I wasn’t sure when you were coming back.”

“I tried to get you up a couple of hours ago, but you said you were tired, so I left you to sleep while I went into town and got supplies for the barbecue.”

“Oh, I guess I should have just called.” Her cheeks heat, and I’m drawn to her, dropping the box to the counter as I scoop her into my arms and kiss her.

“Should I come back later?” Danny asks, his tone amused.

“Yes,” I growl, kissing a path down her jaw to her neck.

“You got a truck full of food that says you might need to take a raincheck on the PDA,” Danny says, chuckling evilly.

Groaning, I reluctantly tear myself away from Etta. “Go get dressed while we unload the truck, then we’ll get started setting everything up once I’ve made you something to eat.”

Etta’s eyes are liquid lust, and I have to swallow down the animalistic growl that’s bubbling in my throat.

“Little One, unless you want to get fucked in front of Danny, stop looking at me like that,” I warn.

Instead of being chastened, her chest hitches, and she trembles. Holy fucking shit. My lips part, but before I can say a word, she turns and rushes from the room.
