I sigh. “Go ahead.”
“Savannah Durand Matthews, will you move in with me, and then out to Santa Fe with me, and wherever else this journey takes me?”
“Duh,” I say, then I give him another kiss.
“Duh?” He grimaces. “Come on.”
“Tyler Matthews, my accidental Vegas husband, he of many bedroom and football talents, I would love to come with you to Santa Fe. And around you.” I waggle my eyebrows and give a little hip thrust, just in case he didn’t get it.
“You are feisty today.”
I grin at him. “I’m in a good mood.”
“Good,” he says. “Maybe I’ll get lucky tonight.”
“Mmmm, Vegas lucky?”
“Break it up, you two!” Eva shouts from the lobby.
He swings me down with a laugh.
“How does after Christmas sound?”
“Let me pack my bags.”
“I am so excited to have you by my side, Peaches.”
“You better be,” I tell him, scooping up my dance bag and handing it to him. “Because you’re stuck with me.” I wriggle my fingers at him, showing off the ridiculously shiny diamond ring he insisted on buying me.
Can’t say I’m too upset about it.
He leans down low. “I told our realtor I wanted a place with a hot tub.”
“I like the sound of that.”
“And a walk-in shower.”
“Do I get to help pick?”
“Peaches, you can pick out whatever you want.”
“I want a yurt.”
“I take it back. I’ll pick.”
Laughing, he swings the dance bag over one shoulder, an evil glint in his eyes.
“No, you don’t,” I squeal, but it’s too late. He swings me over his shoulder and fireman carries me out of the dance studio like I’m a sack of potatoes.
I don’t mind one bit.
“Bye Eva!” I yell at her.
“You two are so cute it’s sick,” she says. “See you next week.”
“Oooh, I’ll have to break the news to her soon.”
“She’ll understand,” Tyler tells me.
The studio door closes behind me, but I’m not sad about it. There’s another one opening, and Tyler’s going through it with me.
