“You can’t stab me in here and get away with it,” he mutters, fear in his voice.

I smile. “Well then, it’s a good job I covered all grounds, ain’t that right, Spider?” I ask. It’s then that we hear the click of Spider’s gun from under the table. “Spider thought me slicing you up may cause some attention, so he came prepared with his gun and silencer, just in case you decided to get vocal,” I sneer.

The guy swallows as he stares down at the table. “What do you want to know?” he asks.

“Good boy,” I praise. “I want to know where Charlie is.”

He looks at me and shakes his head. “I don’t know, not for sure. He only lets a few of us know where he is staying, in case we talk.”

I shake my head. “Let me rephrase my question. Charlie has taken my woman and I want to hunt him the fuck down and slaughter him, while also rescuing my woman. Now, I may appear really fucking calm right now, but underneath this placid exterior is my fury, my rage, boiling through my veins, craving death and retribution. Now, I’m going to ask again. Where is Charlie?” I growl.

He shakes his head, panicking. “I swear, I don’t know. He never tells us,” he whimpers.

God, this weasel is fucking pathetic. “Think. Have you overheard him talking, anything, because I like you, and I really don’t want Spider to blow your fucking brains out,” I press.

The guy pants, whimpering in panic. “Er, I don’t know. I think maybe they said about taking her home, but I didn’t know who they were on about, or where,” he splutters.

I look at Spider and he lifts his chin. I slide out of the booth and lean over the table, placing down a chunk of money. “If you know what’s good for you, you will leave and go start your life somewhere else. You ain’t made for this life. You are a snivelling little weasel, and you should be ashamed of how quickly you gave over information. When Charlie finds out it was you, he will have you killed within fucking minutes,” I warn. I’m about to leave when I turn to back to face him. “You call and report this, I will cut you up into tiny pieces and feed you to the fucking wolves,” I threaten. Standing up straight, I straighten my cut. “Have a good day,” I add, smiling before we leave.

Walking out of the bar, Spider turns to me. “We don’t have wolves here,” he comments.

I smile as we both climb onto our bikes. “I know, but I’d still chop him up into tiny pieces. What animal I feed him to is kind of fucking irrelevant,” I point out. Spider nods before he pulls his cell out of his pocket and sends a text. “You letting Ghost know?” I ask.

“Yeah. Bobby’s house?” he asks to confirm.

“Yeah, brother,” I state as we pull out of the parking lot.

I push my bike to the max, hitting the fastest speed it will go, breaking the speed limit, but I don’t give a shit. I won’t slow down. I won’t stop for nothing until I to get to her.

“I’m coming for you, darlin’,” I rasp.

CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT

BELLE

I open my eyes and look around. It takes me a minute to realise where I am. I quickly sit up when the realisation hits me. Charlie is sat opposite me, smiling. “You know that when you sleep, you look just like your mother. She too used to do this little nose twitch thing,” he says before taking a sip of his drink. “Ain’t that right, Bobby?” he asks. I turn around and see my dad tied to an armchair, blood trickling down his head.

“Dad?” I whisper.

“NO!” Charlie barks. “He isn’t your dad. I’m your dad,” he snaps.

I look to my dad and see his head hanging low, his eyes heavy. “Is what he says true?” I ask.

He looks at me, his eyes pained. “Yes,” he rasps.

I frown and shake my head. “No, you’re just saying that because he has you tied to a chair,” I sob, wiping my tears.

“Did you bang your head when you passed out? Or are you naturally this stupid?” Charlie huffs. He leans down into my face, pointing to my dad. “That man played Daddy in your life, but he is not your father. I am,” he says with a sinical laugh. “Jesus Bobby, did you not even pay for private tuition?” he scoffs.

“It’s true, Belle. But I always saw you as mine. I always loved you like my own.” Dad coughs.

I rest my head in my hands, trying to get my head around it all. “Tell her everything,” Charlie presses. I look up from my hands, glancing between Charlie and my dad. “That’s not all, is it?” Charlie adds before he takes a sip of his drink. “Tell her how her mother really died,” he says, pointing to me.

“What is he on about now?” I ask.

Dad looks to the ground. “I, I...” He pauses.

“Your dear old daddy killed your mama. Ain’t that right, Bobby?” Charlie states. An ice cold chill works its way up my spine at his words. “You see daughter, your mother and I were having an affair. For around a year, we were in love. Your mother was going to leave him, and we were going to go start over in another town. The truck was packed, she was on her way to collect you, then she was going to meet me, and that would be our happily ever after,” Charlie states while glaring at my dad. No, not my dad.
