She has a frown on her face. There’s something about the look in her eyes. I can tell she’s angry.

“I just want to fucking talk.”

I give a moment of thought and signal to Beppe to drop the gun to his side.

“It’s fine, Beppe,” I say as I unlock the door.

Beppe takes a final, intent gaze at her before leaving for his car.

“You know I can have you killed right here?”

Adriana opens the door and hurriedly takes the seat. She turns to look behind us like she’s running away from something. Or someone.

I press the button to roll the window back up.

“But you won’t. I hate being here with you as much as you do,” she says as she turns to face me.

“Yet here you are.”

“After almost choking me to death at the bar, I could have died. Fucking Malgeri.”

I can’t tell if it’s her words or how feisty she has gotten but I somehow get hard watching her speak so furiously.

“I have something you need. The time my father’s drug shipment arrives in the city.”

“Why should I believe you?”

“Why would I risk my life to meet a Malgeri for nothing?”

She says my father’s name with disgust. I’m gripping the steering wheel tighter to stop myself from reaching for her lower jaw and squeezing hard till she learns how to say the Malgeri name with some fucking respect.

But then I stare at her banging body instead. She has a fuck-me body with her breasts begging me to bury my face in them. I want to rip her clothes off now and fuck her hard. Fuck her senselessly.

I notice how ungroomed her fingernails are as she rests them on her thighs.

She has faded jeans on with a stained brown shirt. A button looks like it’s a second away from flying from its place with her protruding tits.

One flick of my wrist and that damn shirt would be open, and her chest would be completely exposed.

“What do you want?”

“For now, drive away from here. We aren't safe here. I’m not.”

Her blue eyes are fixed on me.

I know something is off. I zoom off to my house in Tribeca.

The ride is quiet as I steal glances at her. She has her eyes fixed on the window, staring outside.

The gate opens as I honk twice. A guard dressed in all black with a rifle by his side opens it for me.

I stop at the parking lot after driving through the gates. Four armed men are at the entrance of my house.

“Follow me,” I say to Adriana.

I unlock the doors and step out of the car. Adriana walks behind me as I lead the way to the front door.

The men utter a greeting in unison as we walk past them to the door. I unlock it and step into the house first. “Talk,” I say, letting Adriana into my house.
