Every blush, every smile, every hidden look. It’s been documented in smalltown, USA.

You might want to save me, but not in smalltown, USA. I want to be yours, but not in smalltown, USA.”

I felt Tommy staring at me while Killian crooned into his microphone. Was he thinking the same thing I was? Had Killian written these words for Matty, or was it just a weird coincidence?

“You’re too perfect for me, I’m too broken for you. Especially in smalltown, USA. To touch you would ruin me. To have me would break you. I don’t deserve you in smalltown, USA.”

When we had run through the song numerous times, Killian grabbed his phone. “That’s good. We’re done. I gotta go.” He didn’t look at anyone as he shoved his microphone back into the stand. “Tomorrow. Same time,” he mumbled, then disappeared from the room.

“Is he okay?” Tommy asked as he stood up.

Maverick never said a word as he placed his sticks on his stool, which wasn’t anything new, before he followed Killian, and that left us with Dean.

“Wish I could stay, but I have a date,” he announced.

“Helena?” I asked.

Dean shook his head. “What, no. I’m not—How the fuck did you know that?”

“Like you two aren’t more than obvious.” Tommy rolled his eyes. “It’s fine. We won’t tell Killian.”

Dean dragged a hand through his signature green hair. “Right, well, you’re welcome to stay.”

“No, we’re going to my place,” Tommy announced. “Right?” he added.

I couldn’t wait to be alone with him. Touch him, kiss him, have him do the same to me. “Right.”

We followed Dean as walked up the steps from the practice room and outside to Tommy’s car. Dean bid us goodbye, and once it was just us, Tommy shoved me against the vehicle.

“I missed you,” he whispered. “More than I thought possible.” He cupped my head with his hands.

“Me, too. It’s crazy. Not that we haven’t been apart before, but this time it was different.”

“So different. The texts were nice, but I missed your voice. Your smile. The sounds you make when you come.”

I blushed. “Really?”

“You make these little sexy whining noises. ‘Oh, Tommy.’” He grinned down at me before he slid his lips over mine. “Gets me so fucking hard.”

Heat shot up my spine and over my body before I stepped up onto my toes. “Oh, Tommy,” I murmured into his ear.

“Fuck, Bug.” He groaned. “I’m going to take you home and make you say that all night long.”

I nipped his ear. “Bet.”

***

“Wait, fuck.” I groaned as Tommy slammed me against his bedroom door and reached behind me to lock it.

He grinned down at me. “Strip,” he ordered, already tugging my shirt over my head.

I didn’t need to be told twice. I unbuttoned my jeans and pulled down the zipper. “Did you like the new song—mmffph.” I sucked on his tongue when he shoved it between my lips, my hands digging into his auburn hair.

Tommy chuckled as his hands slipped up my chest and over my nipples. “I think it’s about Matthias.” He peppered wet kisses down my jaw.

“Right? Me, too.”

Tommy stopped to look up at me. “Those lyrics are more than obvious. Was Kill trying to tell everyone, or was he thinking no one would notice them? Something about the hits you received and the marks I leave. Matthias said Killian found him in the tree house, right?” He started to bite at my shoulder before I pushed his face away from me.
