‘Sorry. I’ve just never seen that kind of piercings.’

‘I’m told they feel particularly magical during doggy.’

He climbed into his bath and leaned his head back with his eyes closed.

I followed suit, resting against the gentle slope of the inner walls of the bath, letting the highly scented bath water soak into me.

We stayed that way for a while, my mind regurgitating everything that had happened with Logan. It had all been a whirlwind after I made the choice to sit on his pudding, and I wasn’t sure where it left us.

He’d been content enough to let another man taste me, but he’d also riled me up with the handle of his knife repeatedly. Was I just a fun distraction? Did I want anything more than that? I’d come to Rosenhall to gain an experience like the one I’d just had, but it just left me needing more.

Was it just the heady, intoxicating sexual acts finally being in person and not in my head, or was it really about Logan?

It was stupid pursuing him when he was set to marry Nicole, but I couldn’t help it. I had to know if the delicious dirty words he‘d breathed through my laptop were all talk or coming from a place of genuine desire.

I slid further into the bath water until it sat just under my nose as a smattering of rain hit the large window. I’d never had a threesome. I still wasn’t one hundred percent sure I could say I had, and now I’d been toyed with by multiple people twice in the few days I’d been at Rosenhall. It awoke a fire that seemed to grow with each interaction. Multiple hands and mouths just hit differently. I couldn’t imagine how much more thrilling it would get with cocks involved too. I squeezed my thighs together beneath the water before stealing a glance at Alfie, who caught my eye.

‘You know he’s getting married, right?’ Alfie said.

I bit my lower lip before nodding. ‘I do.’

‘And yet you pursue him, anyway? He’s not the type to play away, well, not outside these walls, and even then, not once he’s married, I don’t think.’

‘He’s marrying my cousin.’

Alfie grinned before pulling himself upright and leaning his arms on the side wall of his tub to face me.

‘I know he is, you little devil.’

Swallowing hard, I tried not to react.

‘So why, little demon, do you insist on chasing him?’

‘I can’t help it. She doesn’t even want him. They are not at all compatible.’

‘And you think he’s compatible with you? Do you long to be a mafia wife, to send him out every day knowing he might not come back? Filling his mansion with mafia spawn to continue his father’s bloodline?’

His words were like a smack to the face. I didn’t want any of that. I wanted to keep earning my own money, to stay away from the mafia life I’d worked so hard to distance myself from. While I may want a child far, far, into the future, I didn’t want one just to damn them to a violent, blood-soaked life.

‘I’m just sick of always being second best. The kid who got the hand-me-downs and the pity. The one who couldn’t afford a pony and didn’t have a father. The one dragged to the parties to see my cousins get everything while my mum and I struggled. She doesn’t deserve him.’

‘No, she doesn’t. But it’s what he wants.’

‘Do you think it is? Deep down?’

‘He’s not really one for spilling his heart, took me long enough to let me drain his snake.’

‘Ew, Alfie.’

‘Sorry,’ he said, not looking sorry in the slightest, ‘I meant to churn his cream. To batter his sausage—‘

‘Stop,’ I laughed, splashing my water at him to stop his terrible innuendos. ’So gross.’

‘It wasn’t, though. Aren’t you craving a taste?’

‘Yes,’ I admitted.

‘Then let’s get him buying you at the auction.’
