Clenching my fists, I leaped into the air, landing on the ledge beyond him.

“If you were really worthy of your title, you would not need the assistance of the very beings you claim to be stronger than, just to climb a hill.”

I saw the moment my words hit him. The way his eyes darkened and fury filled him was more satisfying than anything I had experienced since coming back to the physical plain.

Getting a reaction from the human was somehow even more satisfying than tearing Kovit, limb from limb.

“Come on Sun,” I heard Clem say behind me. I did not look back, but the pace slowed, and I knew that Batu Sun was no longer accepting help. My words had bothered him. Glee filled me. I could not wipe the smirk from my face.

When I finally looked back, Batu Sun was indeed climbing on his own, avoiding any assistance. His jaw was clenched, and a sheen of sweat clung to his skin.

The moment he felt my gaze, he glared up at me.

My grin grew but the amusement I felt from finding a way to get under Batu Sun’s skin faded by evening. The blood moon was in three nights, but our group was too tired to carry on.

I could have continued and believed that Kiar and Bracken would have as well, but the human and the mothian shivered as the temperature began to drop with our ascension into the mountainous region.

It was cold, but I was not too bothered by it. We had been given surprisingly temperate weather over the last few days after the initial snap of winter cold. I hadn’t felt it then since I’d yet to have my body, but I had watched the others shivering and shaking from the cold.

“What are you doing?” Sun suddenly demanded.

I glanced at them to find him glowering at Clem who shifted awkwardly.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Clem said, not meeting his gaze. What a terrible liar.

“You are keeping me warm with magic, aren’t you?” Sun demanded, furious.

“I just want you to be comfortable,” he said weakly.

“It’s draining you,” Sun snapped. “Don’t do it again. I’m fine.”

Huffing, he walked away, looking annoyed by his moth’s desire to care for him. Like he was Sun’s master…

Hm… what an interesting idea.

They were all so ridiculous together. It was like watching rats trying to organize. And they had no respect for my opinions which was a disgusting fact in itself.

I knew that moving would be the best thing to battle the cold, but the others seemed to think that bundling up together was a better option.

Then I remembered that they had other ways to keep warm.

Tonight, Batu Sun climbed onto Kiar as though he owned him, and I knew that he did. I watched from the ledge above as he slowly lowered himself onto the naga’s cock.

My lip curled in distaste, but I watched despite myself. He enjoyed sex so much that it was like he needed it to live. His passion for more was limitless.

My gaze fixed on Batu Sun’s body as he moved.

He rolled his hips back and forth, as fluid as waves in water. His head fell back, and lips parted as he gasped for air.

After a minute, he lifted onto his knees and then, when he went down again, it was to take both of Kiar’s cocks inside him.

They both cried out in pleasure.

Were all humans like this? Was it only Sun? Or was it only because it was a noc that he was fucking? Did he enjoy how wrong it was? There were those who delighted in doing things they shouldn’t. Perhaps Sun was one of them. Perhaps he had fucked as many nocs as he had killed over the years.

I could not imagine other humans being so reckless with where they sought their pleasure. I had never heard of our kinds mixing before.

Kiar’s hands tangled in Sun’s long hair, and he groaned, releasing inside his human lover–so quickly. I would have taken my time. I would have made it unbearable for Sun before reaching my release–
