“No Fletcher Claus duty that day?”

“Never getting rid of that name, am I?” Sighing, he soaped up the rest of his body. “I work until Friday and I’m done for the year.”

“Okay.” She nodded, turned around and gestured to her back. “Soap me up?”

“You’re trying to kill me, aren’t you?”

“No more than you’re trying to kill me. Can’t believe you’re a fan of Christmas.”

He chuckled and dragged his soapy hands over her back, down her sides and hips, and over her ass. “You didn’t tell me why you don’t like the holiday.”

“I don’t know. There’s always so much false cheer, the music grates on my nerves and people spend so much money on gifts that we don’t need.”

“Ah,” he said, hiding his smile when Micah turned to look at him. “You don’t like the capitalism of the holidays.”

She shrugged and set her hands on his chest, smirking playfully. “But I have to admit that seeing you as Santa tonight might have changed my mind a little.”

He arched an eyebrow. “Oh yeah?”

“Absolutely. In fact, the Santa Kink is a long standing thing in romance novels.”

“I’d prefer if it was a Fletcher Claus kink,” he countered, hating himself a little for even using the dumb name Jensen started and Micah picked up.

“Well, you’re the only Santa I know, so sure.”

He laughed and leaned in to kiss her softly. “Thanks, that’s very comforting.”

Laughing with him, she poked his stomach and then pulled back to smooth down her wet hair. “Now I set up Christmas every year for Emery, because I won’t be a Scrooge and take it away from her.”

“You’re a good mother, Mick. I hope you know that.”

Her face softened slightly. “I do my best, but I’m also lucky to have a fantastic kid.”

“You’re responsible for a lot of that, in case you didn’t know.”

“I know.” She tugged him under the water with her. “I can’t imagine my life without her anymore, even though for so many years, being a mom wasn’t even at the top of my list.”

He remembered a ‘list’ of things she wanted to do in this lifetime. He’d teased her about it then, but if his memory served, she’d achieved a lot of it and then some.

“Remind me of what was on that list.”

She narrowed her eyes, like she knew Fletcher remembered what she’d put down. But she still obliged him. “Travel the world, tour with my favorite band, fuck a rockstar, get my dream job, drive a truck, get a tattoo,” she said, sticking her arm out to show off her gorgeous collection of random art. “Fall in love, get my heart broken…you know the usual.”

“I remember there being more,” he reminded her.

“Obviously, it was like two sides of a notebook page.”

Fletcher smirked and turned off the water, grabbing a towel for Micah and one for himself. “Who broke your heart?”

“My parents,” she admitted softly. “Twice, actually. Once when I got pregnant and then when I was divorced, they shut me out for a long time. They were disappointed and confused, but mostly they didn’t know how to respond to everything I was going through.”

“I’m sorry, Mick.”

Nodding, she dried her hair and then patted her body down before wrapping the towel and knotting it on the side. “We’re okay now. There are moments of tension, but they love Em and I think they deal with me because of her.”

“You see them often?”

“One holiday a year, at the very least.” Micah walked out of the bathroom, fingers dragging through wet curls.
