“I know it’s serious. That’s why I said you should do it a bunch of times.”

“You don’t think it’s weird?”

“Who cares if it is? Just do it.”

Just do it? “It doesn’t feel like it’s … allowed.”

“Allowed by who? Look, I understand your heartburn. Well, I’m pretending to because unlike you, I’m a good friend. But I think, as long as you and David are both going into it with a clear objective and an expiration date, then what’s the real harm? You’re consenting adults, you’re not related, neither one of you is underage and he’s not a farm animal. I’d say the path is clear,” Jules told her, then tacked on, “And I have to say, his idea is kind of brilliant and actually makes a lot of sense … but don’t you dare tell him I said that.”

“I won’t.”

“I know your knee-jerk reaction is to make this complicated, but it doesn’t have to be complicated. In and out. Smash and grab.”

Paige rolled her eyes, even though Jules couldn’t see her.

“You know you want to do it,” Jules continued. “You were only asking if I thought it was weird because you wanted me to tell you it wasn’t and tell you it’s okay to do what you want to do. And now that I have, you can tell David it’s full steam ahead.”

Chapter 65

David latched onto Paige’s nipple and sucked until it was a stiff, wet peak, but when he went to give the other nipple equal attention, her hand in his hair held him firmly in place.

“Where do you think you’re going?” she asked.

He looked up at her and leaned into her hand, forcing his way over to her other breast. “Just over here,” he said, before flicking his tongue teasingly over her nipple. When Paige tried to push his mouth down, he resisted, only giving in when she put her other hand in his hair and pushed in earnest.

He bit down on her nipple, with just enough pressure to elicit a shocked exhale followed by her back bowing off the bed.

“Too much?” David asked, pulling back.

“Did I say it was too much?” She shoved his mouth down again. “Keep going.”

David gave a low chuckle and just as Paige was really getting into it … she was suddenly blinking in the darkness of her room, disoriented. As she slowly came to the realization the nipple warfare she’d been enjoying wasn’t real, she groaned in deep disappointment.

“Are you kidding?” Paige yelled at the ceiling, her heart pounding from the intense and graphic dream. Then, because she hadn’t gotten all of her anger out, she picked up her phone to turn off her musical alarm, which was “Here Comes The Sun” by the Beatles. It was normally a wake-up call that didn’t enrage her, but today, however … they’d messed with the wrong girl.

“Fuck you, Fab Four! And fuck you, alarm!”

Tossing her phone to the side, she was painfully aware of her body buzzing and begging for release, not unlike how she felt that night in the hallway outside her door with David. It took her three seconds to decide doing nothing wasn’t an option and quickly dipped her hand down to where she needed it and got to work. It didn’t take long to bring herself to orgasm and when she was done, she picked up her phone and texted David.

Chapter 66

PAIGE: I’m in.

David read the short text from Paige several times, even though it didn’t really require that many brain cells to interpret. For a moment, he contemplated texting back and asking what she was ‘in’, because she’d made him wait seven damn days, but decided against it.

He FaceTimed her instead.

When she answered, her voice was barely audible. “Why can’t you just text like a normal person?”

“Because I want to hear your voice and see your pretty face,” he said, before asking, “Why are you whispering? Are you at work?”

“Yes.” She could see his rumpled hair and noted he wasn’t wearing a shirt, which led her to admire the line of his shoulders for a few seconds. “Are you still in bed?”

Instead of answering, he noted, “That sounded really judgmental.”

“Well, I’ve been at work for two hours, so …”

“Jesus, it’s only 7 a.m.”
