I balk at the idea. He may have mentioned it before but I didn't realize he was serious. We really are going to do it all. Hopefully the pain relief doesn’t wear off any time soon. “I’m happy to assist Daddy with anything he wants.”

“Be careful saying that,” he chuckles. “This Daddy wants to take Momma to the stars and back.”

“You already did.”

“Then I’ll do it again, and again, and again.”

I smile like an idiot snuggling into his chest, my hand resting against his heart. I just feel so happy.

It feels so good to be with him again like this. I have no regrets. Not one at all.

Brook warmed up our burgers and fries and gave Noodle some dinner in her bowl.

Then he helped me shower to wash off our sweat and sex before we did it all again.

True to his word, he took me to bed and ate me out like a man who has been starving all this time. Devouring every inch of me.

I’ve never let anyone do that except Brook. He doesn’t know it, but it’s true.

The way his beard tickled me in all the right places because of its softness was such a turn on. My nipples were teased deliciously senseless with him playing with them and running his scruff over them for most of the night. I requested he lift his hips up to my mouth so I could suck him off right after he made me come with his tongue. He was so pent up from that, he pulled out suddenly, holding onto his cock at the base, spurting his release all over my breasts. Something he has always loved to do.

He cleaned us both up with a warm flannel afterward and laid beside me for another breather.

We’ve been silent for a while now, but I know he’s not asleep.

“This tattoo?” I whisper. Trailing light fingertips over his heart, feeling the ripple of muscle under my touch, and the light smattering of dark hair.

“Ah that.” I’m not looking at his face, but I know he’s smiling.

“Yes, that. Did I tell you Blake told me just recently?”

“Yes, you did. I suppose it had to come out sooner or later.”

“When did you get it?”

“Right before the last time we broke up,” he says. “When I thought we were getting back together.”

My heart aches hearing that. I feel the pull of the weight of it in my chest. “Oh, Brook. I had no idea.” I trace my finger over my name and then Blake’s. I feel tears form in my eyes.

“I know we tried. Maybe the time just wasn’t right,” he says in a whisper. “But we’re older now. We’re both where we want to be with everything else.”

“I’m sorry we let it slip away.”

“I’m sorry, too.”

I feel the tear spring to my eyes and I feel unable to stop them. He lifts his head to look at me. “Baby doll, there’s nothing to regret. These things happen. It’s all part of the journey.”

“But we still loved each other. We just couldn’t see the forest for the trees.”

“It was difficult for us being young parents. Of course we love Blakey, but it was hard work in the beginning.”

“We lost sight of each other,” I say sadly. “What are we going to do differently this time?”

“We just got to give it time, E. Let’s get to know each other again. I know we’re in bed together now, but we’ve always had more than just sexual chemistry.”

“See how things go, is that what you’re saying?”

“If we’re serious about it, then we have to be all in. So you need to think about that when I’m gone tomorrow. I want to know how you feel when I’m not with you.”
