Sophie could only grin as Serval snapped back, annoyed, that he definitely wasn’t.

“Forgive my mate,” Hela said to her, smiling at Korvii affectionately as the two males bickered back and forth. “He’s very competitive. To the point of impropriety sometimes.”

“Oh, I don’t mind,” Sophie shrugged. “He’s wrong though.”

“Hm?”

“Serval is definitely the better lover.”

Hela’s eyes sparkled with mischief as she crossed her arms, looking at her. “Begging to differ, little human. We went to bed before you and left our room after. I do believe that means we win.”

“Ah, but victory in this arena isn’t measured by time spent,” Sophie countered grandly, their words having earned the attention of the males. “I’d argue that number of orgasms given supersedes time taken to get there.”

“I would say I still win,” Korvii declared, smirking at Serval.

“You wish,” he snorted.

Sophie snickered behind her hand as they started arguing over numbers.

Korvii and Hela were fun. Sophie found it funny that Korvii was willing to challenge Serval over any and everything. And Serval acted annoyed, but he rose to that challenge every time. Hela and Sophie took turns cheering them on and adding their opinions as the topic switched from who was better at sex to who had done a better job on the surface last night.

There were still some things to clear up today. All four of them had to be questioned by the peacekeepers. They turned their footage into Nox who chastised them for waiting so damn long. Though he did seem pleased that the four of them had worked together to get the story covered from all angles. A feat that didn’t seem likely to happen again soon since Korvii immediately challenged Serval to see who would get the best story next.

The four of them hung out for the entire day. Working on write ups for Nox. Completing their interviews with the peacekeepers. Retrieving their landing pods. Finally, they were given permission by the authorities to leave at their convenience.

Serval guided his ship over to where Korvii and Hela had left theirs. They would be able to recover their own landing pods from there. The ships attached and the doors opened between them.

“We should get together again sometime,” Sophie said as they saw them off.

“I agree,” Hela beamed.

“I don’t,” Serval grumbled, glaring at Korvii who was smirking.

“You’re just afraid that I’ll show them that I really am better.”

“Ha!”

Sophie chuckled, Hela and her sharing an amused glance. They might amp up their guys, but they weren’t nearly so competitive as them. It was just fun to be part of it.

“Bye.” Sophie waved as the two walked through.

The doors shut and sealed between them. The ship jerked as they separated. And Sophie and Serval were alone again.

She smiled at her mate as he put an arm around her waist. “I’m going to miss them.”

“I’m not,” he grunted, lips curled.

She laughed. “So, what is our next story?”

He looked down at her. “Did you forget already?”

“Hm?”

He turned, scooping her up into his arms. “We’re going home. We’re going to have our mating ceremony.”

“Oh,” she blinked, startled. “You meant right now?”

“I’m not waiting a day longer than I have to.” He tightened his grip on her. “I should have done it before we left Wav’aii before. I’m never again going to let my career interfere with you. You are the most important thing in my life, not competing with Korvii.”
