“Imagine my tongue on you.” She did it again.

Crying out, Tori folded against Miranda. She still writhed, not quite there, but so close. Miranda clutched against her back and held her as close as she possibly could.

“Almost there,” Tori muttered and grunted.

“I wish I could taste you.”

Tori didn’t answer. They rutted in the silence, the music from the movie echoing down the hallway toward them. Miranda tried to tune it out, clenching her eyes shut as she rested her head against the wall. Tori careened through her orgasm and pulled Miranda’s hand from her pants, pressing her palm against the wall above Miranda’s head as she held herself steady.

It took Miranda a minute to catch her breath, to really look Tori over and see the strain on her face. She was just about to speak when Tori interrupted her.

“How close are you?”

“Oh. Um…” Miranda pulled her lip between her teeth and ran through her body. She wasn’t close at all. She should be. With the fantasies she had been coming up with and the fact that Tori was against her, fully clothed still, but pressing her up into the wall.

“Bed,” Tori stated.

“Right.” Miranda moved slightly as Tori stepped back and gave her space.

She bent down and grabbed her shirt and her bra, taking it with her to the guest room that Tori led her to. Tori must think it was her bedroom. To be fair, any time they’d been together before had been in there. Miranda almost corrected her, but instead let Tori lead the way. It would be easier like this, wouldn’t it?

Tori shut the door after her, and Miranda threw her clothes on top of the dresser. She sat awkwardly on the edge of the bed and pulled her slacks off, getting naked as Tori did the same. It was like they were practiced at it by this point, nothing more to it than getting business done.

Miranda pulled herself backward on the bed, and Tori was on her in an instant. Their mouths locked together in a heated kiss, one that should get her going. She dug her fingers into Tori’s sides, clutching her as once again Tori slid her thigh between her legs, this time starting a rocking motion that Miranda ground against. That was what she needed, more friction.

She took it upon herself to keep the motion going while Tori teased her breasts with her tongue and lips, while she tried to concentrate.

Clear my mind.

Why is this so awkward?

What did Tori mean?

You know what she meant.

Stop thinking!

Miranda ground her molars against each other and huffed out a breath in frustration. “This isn’t working.”

“Hold on.” Tori moved, sliding down Miranda’s body until her face was planted between her legs.

The swipes of Tori’s tongue did hardly anything. Miranda gripped the blanket and closed her eyes. What was wrong with her? This shouldn’t be so damn hard, but it was. She put all of her attention on Tori’s mouth and tried to shove her frustration with her own body out the door they had come in. They didn’t need it there.

She was sure Tori was getting tired, that her tongue was wearing down. Miranda finally felt the pull of her orgasm, the blessing of it almost bursting before it was chased away. Cursing under her breath, she went back to focusing on her body to find it.

Just come already.

Tori hadn’t taken this long. She’d practically come in seconds. Miranda wanted to cry. There! There it was again. She chased the pleasure through her body. As soon as she had hold of it, she wasn’t going to let it go. It still took longer than she would have liked, but her orgasm washed through her like gentle waves on the beach.

Tori didn’t even stay down there to pull out the last legs of it. She crawled up the bed and lay on her back next to Miranda’s shaking and weary form. Miranda brushed her hand over her mouth, turning slightly to look into Tori’s eyes.

“What are we doing?” Tori stared at her directly. “What are we to each other?”

Miranda blew out a breath. She couldn’t have this conversation. Not now. Not when she had so much else on her shoulders. Miranda stared up at the ceiling. “I need to focus on Rebel. She’s my responsibility.”

“That doesn’t mean you can’t be in a relationship.”

“It does.” Miranda bit back the tears. “I can’t be distracted, not if I’m fighting for custody, and I know all of my attention is going to be on Rebel and Tierney. This is going to be a mess.”
