Just as she was about to settle, he grabbed her arms and pulled her onto him, mischief twinkling in his eyes.

“Only you can prank me, huh? I can't?” he asked huskily.

Her lips curved into a slight smile, relieved that he wasn't seriously upset. As he drew her close, he inhaled her scent.

“You washed your hair?” he inquired.

Knowing his fondness for her hair, she bit her lip. “I was painting tonight, and the paint got into my hair.”

“Painting?”

“It's a surprise. I'll show you when it's finished.”

Ranveer frowned momentarily but relented to her request.

“Alright,” he agreed, settling her beside him and embracing her. “Did your meeting with Kunal go well?”

“Hmm,” he murmured, closing his eyes, and as she recounted her day, she soon heard his soft snores. He had fallen asleep quickly. Maya gently stroked his hair and kissed his forehead. Despite their recent lack of sleep, he possessed an extraordinary ability to juggle work, love, and family. Her husband was a true multitasker, and she was utterly in love with every aspect of him, especially his soul. Nestling against his chest, she closed her eyes, finally drifting off to sleep.

Next Morning

“Bro… Bro,” Dhruv’s voice echoed through the living room, stirring Garima from her tasks in the kitchen. Concerned, she emerged to find him standing with serious expressions on his face.

“Dhruv, when did you get here?” she inquired anxiously.

“Where is Bro?” he asked with the same gravity.

“I'm here,” Ranveer Malhotra emerged from his room. Dhruv frowned, noticing his casual demeanor. He strode over, and Maya rushed out as well, but she didn't intervene. Dhruv's tone indicated he was aware of Kunal and Ranveer's conversation.

“You kept such a big secret from me?” Dhruv questioned.

“I was planning to tell you,” Ranveer began.

“When?” Dhruv snapped. “Why wasn't I the first to know? This concerns me. Why did you hide it from me?”

“I didn't want you to worry,” Ranveer attempted to placate him, but Dhruv recoiled.

“Worry?” he snapped. “Your actions hurt me, bro. Why did you force Kunal Bhai to give me my share? I don't need it. I can earn my own keep. I don't need their money.”

Tears welled in Dhruv’s eyes as he spoke, and Ranveer felt a pang in his heart.

“I don't want this,” he declared, flinging the blue file he had brought with him aside. “I don't want any of the Malik property, the house, nothing. I'm content without it. I've always relied on you and them for everything in my life. But that doesn't mean I'll continue to do so. Maybe you don't trust that I can stand on my own feet. That's why you threatened Kunal to give me a piece of the Malik pie.”

Ranveer clenched his jaw. “Watch your words, Dhruv. That's not true.”

“Then what is?” Dhruv roared.

Daadi emerged from her room, shocked to hear Dhruv raising his voice against Ranveer. “What's going on here?” she demanded.

“Daadi, please. I've got this,” Ranveer gestured for her to stay out of it, but she persisted.

“Ranveer, haven't you done everything for this brother of yours? And this is how he repays you? I won't stand for it,” Daadi exclaimed.

“That's exactly my point,” Dhruv scowled. “Everyone is doing favors for me. No one lets me steer my own life. You all think I'm a coward.”

“Shut up, Dhruv,” Ranveer snapped. “Just shut up, or I'll hit you hard.”

“You want to fight?” Dhruv assumed a defensive posture. “I'm ready.”
