With him.

I roll my eyes at Luca and shift my weight on my feet again, my heart beating a little faster as the line gets shorter.

“I mean, I would anyway. Don’t have to ask me twice,” Luca says, shoving his hands in his hoodie pocket and shrugging his shoulders. “But like… right now, I would.”

“For fuck’s sake, would you shut up?” I mutter, and Max glances over his shoulder at us with a chuckle and a shake of his head.

“Why?” Luca asks. “Aren’t you hungry?”

I turn to Adão behind me. “Want to switch seats?”

Adão laughs and Luca scoffs.

“Oh, come on,” Luca elbows me in the ribs and I side step away from him. “You wouldn’t want to miss out on the possibility of a little airplane handy would you?”

“Oh my god,” Max turns to Luca with wide eyes. “Please, do not. I’m in your row.”

Luca just chuckles and winks at me.

And I just sigh.

We make it through the gate and onto the plane, and as I get buckled in my seat next to the window, with Luca beside me and Max on his other side, I take a deep breath and look outside.

I watch as the crew loads the luggage into the plane, counting each suitcase to try to calm my apparent nerves. I had no fucking idea I was going to be this nervous to fly.

And as everyone is finally in their seats and the plane doors close, my leg starts bouncing.

Luca nudges my arm, bringing my attention to him. He gives me a quizzical look, so I rub a hand over my face and try to school my expression and calm the fuck down.

“Cut might be getting to me,” I mutter, adjusting myself in my seat.

Luca nods with a soft smile. “Yeah, me too. But after weigh-in tomorrow we can eat, hydrate and watch Mulan.”

The plane starts moving backwards, and my eyes slide to the window again.

“And,” Luca continues, “I have a second movie lined up, if needed. But it’s a surprise.”

I turn to face him again. “Another cartoon, I’m assuming.”

“I said it was a surprise, Tyler. Come on.” He rolls his eyes. Then smiles again. “But you could always guess.”

“I honestly have no idea what any of your movies are,” I say.

“Lies. You loved Ratatouille.”

“I fell asleep.”

“Yeah, because I sucked your dick so good. Leave Remy out of this.”

“Who’s Remy?”

“The rat chef.” Luca gives me an incredulous look, like this is some kind of common knowledge. “Seriously, get your shit together.”

The plane rolls onto the runway, and rumbling sounds throughout the space as we pick up speed. My hands start fidgeting in my lap as I stare out the window, and my body almost feels frozen in fear.

Until fingers slip into mine.

Luca gives my hand a squeeze, and a smile tugs at my lips as the fear floats away with the clouds.
