“I’m excited!” Rosa flashes one more big smile at us before she turns and heads for the locker room, calling over her shoulder, “And we’ll do a shot of real tequila!”

I grin at Ty as he slowly turns to face me.

I lift my finger to point at my chest, then to the mats. “I promised.” Then I point at him. “You promised.”

He nods, closing the distance between us and placing a hand on my shoulder. “I know,” he says as he pushes me down to the mat.

But as we move back into butterfly guard to keep working on sweeps, he pauses and looks into my eyes for a moment. Then he leans in, lightly pressing his lips to mine. “Thanks.”

“Salud!”

We all clink our shot glasses together, then knock back our tequila.

“Whoa,” Seb nods, sucking on his lime. “That’s some good shit.”

“Told ya,” Rosa smiles at him as she pops a chip with guacamole into her mouth.

I chuckle, pulling my lime from my lips and placing it into my empty shot glass next to Ty’s. And I notice he didn’t even take his lime.

I point at it. “You’re supposed to suck that after.”

He looks down at the lime and shrugs one shoulder. “Why?”

I snort. “Didn’t do tequila in your wild days? Even unhinged Ty didn’t celebrate Cinco de Mayo?”

He grabs the last bite of his taco, ignoring me.

“I get it,” I shrug, scooping up some guacamole with a chip, “nothing beats sucking my cock. I could pour some tequila on it for you next time?”

Adão stifles a laugh from the other side of me, while Ty closes his eyes with a sigh.

Elijah snorts as he takes a sip of his water. “Um, well, regardless of all that, the tequila was good.” He chuckles and points over his shoulder at the bar. “If it wasn’t four weeks to fight time, I’d snag us another round.” He then shoots me a panicked look. “To drink.”

I laugh, holding up my water in a cheers motion to him.

Ty rubs his hand on his thigh, his leg bouncing slightly as he leans back in his chair. But I nudge him with my knee under the table and shake my head at him. That little reminder that we’re four weeks out from Dallas is sending him back into his head, and that’s not going to happen on my watch. Because we fucking got this.

“Maybe not a round of tequila, but another round of tacos?” Seb asks, looking around the table hopefully. “These are fucking delightful, and I’m treating this as my last meal before the hard-core training diet begins tomorrow.”

Noah nods, finishing the last of his taco. “I’m in. Last time we were here I think we did three rounds,” he chuckles.

Rosa laughs with a nod, and I suppress a smile. Interesting. No one else has been here with Rosa before… Looks like my hunch that something is going on between them could be true…

“I’ll go grab them,” I say, pushing my chair back and glancing at the window where we order to see the line dwindling. It’s a cool place, set up like a street food venue with a literal food truck inside the restaurant to order from.

Elijah pushes his chair back as well. “I’ll help.”

We step into line behind the person ordering at the window, and Elijah lets out a low whistle.

“What?” I ask.

He subtly points with his chin to a table nearby, where two girls are drinking margaritas. “Pretty.”

I chuckle as we step up to the truck. “Go chat. I’ll order.”

He immediately blushes and shakes his head. “Nah, it’s alright.”

I smile, forming a plan in my head as I place our order for another round of tacos for our table. And as we step aside to wait for our order, I nudge him towards the table with the girls.
