“Let me be clear,” Kessler adds. “If you break my daughter’s heart, I will kill you. I will finish what Colton started.”

“I think Nadia will beat you to it,” Kai replies, half-smiling. “That girl is a fucking brilliant tornado.”

After everything she’s been through, after what she survived, I’m inclined to agree with Kai. If we hurt her, she will end us. That woman is still standing after countless monsters tried to destroy her.

I’m glad we were able to get her father on board. As much on board as an old school fella like him can be. It’s better than nothing, and it is definitely more than what Nadia has hoped for. She deserves this. She deserves all the love and all the peace in the world. She walked out of the storm, and it’s time for her to start living again.

Nadia

I got a text from Dad saying he’s driving up to Malibu for a couple of days. He could’ve taken me with him, but I suppose I’ve been moping around so much that he just had to go away. Maybe that’s how I’ll get him to bend and give up on his Blackthorn Riders boycott. Maybe I’ll just wear him out with my functional depression.

Sadness has been my companion over the past month.

As the pregnancy progresses, I’m dealing with increasingly intense emotions. I have ups and downs as I trudge through each day, trying my best to take good care of myself. I eat well, I sleep well, I swim every day, and I even stick to my yoga routine despite my growing baby bump. Physically, I’m in top shape. Emotionally, I’m a mess, not that anyone could blame me.

I miss the guys.

Hell, I miss the clubhouse and everybody in it. Travis. Paddy. Hammer. Part of me misses Carla, too. Not a day goes by that I don’t whisper a prayer for her soul. She tried to save me, the poor thing, hoping that it might save her, too. I won’t shed a single tear for anyone else, though. The universe was fierce enough to protect me, I dare not object to its twists and turns.

My days are slow and my nights are long. But after everything that happened, after that horrific scare and the bloody shootings, I wanted to give my father a break. We talked about Mom when I came back from Foothills Ranch. For hours, we poured out our emotions, our resentment, our unspoken words until everything came out.

He apologized. It took a while, but he finally found the courage to do what he’d wanted to do for years. I forgave him. Besides, holding on to that grudge was exhausting. And so, I gave him some time to heal. I kept hoping he’d change his mind about the guys.

I don’t mind having him away for a couple of days. I’ve got the mansion all to myself, and there’s so much food in the fridge, I don’t know what to dig into first. Fresh out of a hot shower and wrapped in a silken robe, I pad across the kitchen’s white marble floor, wondering if I should go for the chocolate mousse or the fruit salad first.

A knock on the door has me whirling and worried.

“We’re not expecting anybody,” I mumble and check the security feed on my phone app. Dad had that installed after Foothills. My heart skips a beat when I see three familiar faces outside my door. “Oh, my gosh!”

I throw open the door.

Orion, Drake, and Kai light up at the sight of me, and I instantly melt under their smoldering gazes. I’d missed this view. These strong, handsome men with rippling muscles that make their shirts and jeans tight, while their leather vests and boots perfectly complement their tattoos and battle scars. My God, they look so good. Orion with his black, shiny hair and dark eyes. Kai with his tanned skin and fiery gaze. Drake with his surfer smile and blonde mane.

“You’re here,” I whisper.

“And we’re not going anywhere, either” Orion replies.

“Are you going to let us in?” Drake asks.

Blinking slowly, I welcome them inside. “I’m starting to think my Dad’s trip to Malibu was not a coincidence,” I tell them.

“It is not,” Kai confirms, beaming with boyish pride.

“Don’t tell me,” I gasp, my eyes close to popping out of their sockets as my heart fills with a sudden surge of pure relief and happiness.

“We got the old man on board, albeit with some terms and conditions,” Orion chuckles softly.

I squeal with sheer delight and throw myself in their arms, whispering sweet words of love in their ears. “Oh, I can’t believe it. It’s like a dream come true. I love you,” I say, showering them with sweet, sloppy kisses. “I missed you so much.”

“Dammit, Nadia, we missed you, too,” Drake growls as they wrap their arms around me, as they cuddle closer, and I melt into their bodies altogether.

“Nothing is going to stop us now,” Orion declares, gently brushing my hair over one shoulder so he can kiss the side of my neck. Tiny jolts travel through my body as the temperature quickly rises and the front door closes behind them.

My body is crying out for them.

“My God, you’ve gotten big,” Kai says, lovingly admiring me.
