“I texted Charles and said I was delayed.”
“Before or after?”
“After. He’ll wait because he knows I have a nice fat bonus for him.”
I pushed myself up and Oliver got off the bed so I could stand.
“Mmm, Belgian waffles. I love these with Nutella,” I said.
“I know. Why do you think I ordered them?”
“I didn’t see Nutella on the menu.”
“I’m…”
I cut him off. “I know, Oliver Fox. Do you ever get sick of saying that?”
“Not at all because it’s true. I worked hard to get where I am and I might as well enjoy my status.”
“Arrogant asshole,” I said under my breath.
Oliver looked up from his mushroom omelet. “Excuse me?”
“Like you didn’t know what I said.”
“Are you ever going to stop calling me that?” he asked.
I rolled my eyes. “Yeah, when you stop acting like one.”
“Then never.” He reached out and stroked my bare arm. After I got up from bed, I took a quick shower to clean myself, keeping my hair dry. I was now dressed in the blue bikini I pulled out of my suitcase before we made love. I finished a waffle, took a few sips of coffee and pushed back from the table.
“I’m full and ready for the beach.”
“I should only be a couple of hours. Charles made some modifications to the employee quarters, and I need to check those also.”
“What modifications?”
“He added an outdoor shower and a patio with a grill outside the sliding glass door. Just because they’re employees doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be comfortable.”
I nodded. “That was nice of you.”
“I try.”
He stood up, tipped my head with two fingers on my chin and gave me a coffee flavored kiss.
“Remember, stay with Brenda and Raquel.”
I crossed my arms. “What do you think I’m going to do? Run and get ice cream from the Good Humor man?”
“No. I mean if you want to use the restroom or go swimming.”
“Stop worrying. I know the drill.”
“They should be here in a few minutes. Do you want me to wait?”
“No. You can go. I’ll be fine. Don’t keep Vlad waiting.”
“Fine. Be careful and don’t forget sunscreen.”
