He moved back slightly and smirked at me. "Yes, tricks. I fully support you learning as many as you want." The look on his face made my heart happy.I loved Carlo like this.

Playful.

Smexy.

Hot.

And carefree.

He seemed lighter and less—worried. Or something.

I wasn't sure what made him a bit more stern than the other men. All I knew was I loved when he seemed freer. And less bothered by whatever was eating away at him.

Maybe it was his father's health.

Maybe it was some kind of secret mafia business.

It didn't really matter to me anyway.

Soon I'd be gone.

And he'd have to deal with it himself.

"Where did you just go?" Carlo's voice brought me out of my head.

I blinked and tilted my head. "I'm right here. You're still impaling me in case you forgot."

He gave me a muted smile. "What were you thinking about? You suddenly had a sad look on your face.”

His hand raised to my face and brushed back some of my wet hair from my cheek. I adored when he made small gestures like that. "I'm right here, honey. And I'm fine. I'm not sad, I promise," I lied to my handsome lumberjack. He stared at me for a few moments and then in a low voice he asked, "Did I hurt you?"

Oh.

My.

Heart.

I frowned and moved my hands behind his neck. "No, of course not. I'm fine. Just tired." I hugged him and squeezed him as tight as I could.

Everywhere.

"Are you sure?" His voice was tinged with even more concern than before.

"I'm positive. I feel bad that Eve is downstairs doing all the supper work. That's all," I lied.

Again.

Wow, I was really making a habit out of this.

"Eve just got the fucking of her life." He kissed the side of my face. "She's fine. You know she wanted to give us some time alone.” I did know that. And what he said was true. Because Eve was the best person I'd ever met.

"Feeding all of you is a lot of work. That's all." And that was also true. But it wasn't exactly something that Eve and I couldn't manage.Nope. She and I loved cooking and baking. And I especially loved it when I didn't have to worry about how much everything cost.

These men didn't put us on a restricted grocery budget. And it wasn't unusual to have one or two of them helping us out in the kitchen.

Carlo kissed my lips. "You two do a wonderful job of it." He seemed satisfied enough with my answers. He pulled out of me and set me down on my feet.

"I guess we need another shower," I said in my sexiest, teasing voice. He grinned down at me.
