Creed opened her door and extended his hand to help her out. He guided her toward the door, waiting patiently as she unlocked the door. Their eyes met and held for a moment before she spoke.

“I had a really good time,” she said with a smile.

“I did too. Let’s do it again.”

“Great. I can cook dinner for you next Saturday night, if you’re not busy.”

“I’m free and that sounds great. What time?”

“Six o’clock.”

“Alright, I’ll be here.” As he stepped closer, his gaze locked onto hers, and he reached to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. “Can I kiss you goodnight?”

“Please,” she replied with a nod.

He cupped her cheek in his hand, drawing closer until their lips met. In that moment, it felt as though lightning struck him. Pulling back slightly, he gazed into her eyes before a smile spread across her face.

“Do that again,” she whispered.

With a grin, Creed leaned in once more, wrapping his arms around her waist as he passionately devoured her lips. Her soft moans ignited a fire within him, and he slowly pulled back.

“I definitely want more of that,” he murmured against her lips before moving in for another deep kiss.

Creed raised his lips, put his forehead against hers, and sighed.

“I should get going. As much as I’d love to stay here and keep doing this, I should go before it gets too bad.”

“Alright. Please be careful, and text me when you get home.”

“Yes, ma’am. I’ll talk to you soon.” He quickly kissed her lips, touched the brim of his hat, and walked to his truck.

After climbing in, he reversed it, backed out of the driveway, and waved before pulling away. He grinned when she waved then went inside.

As he pulled onto the main road, he swore at the snow beginning to lay on the surface and knew he needed to get his ass home before it got worse. He hoped it didn’t cause problems for next weekend. He was looking forward to seeing Abbie again.

Chapter Four

Sunday, Abbie sat on the sofa watching TV with the snowstorm raging on outside the windows. She could hear ice hitting against them. It looked like a bad one. As she tried to get into the movie, her phone vibrated. She picked it up to see Lorna’s number. She chuckled as she read the message.

Are you alone?

Of course, I am. What do you take me for?

Well, let’s see. You haven’t had sex in two years, so I’m going with horny.

Abbie burst out laughing.

I didn’t think I was until last night.

Did he stay?

No. We’re going to get to know each other first, but man, can he kiss.

Lorna sent a laughing emoji back.

He’s totally hot.

Yeah, he is. When you and I get together, I’ll tell you about meeting him for the first time. It did not go over well!
