Page 40 of Their Cursed Wolves

He blushes as he slides under the blankets with me. “We often get naked and go wolf, to be more one with nature, which also typically leads to us spending some time in the woods naked.”

“So most of the town has seen you naked?”

He avoids my gaze. “Most of the town has seen each other naked, since shifting and running around the woods is a common thing.” He hesitates. “Besides, most wolves like to play in the water quite a bit, in their human and shifter form.”

I start to think. “Is that why you aren’t attracted to me sexually? You guys are often running around the woods getting naked and fornicating with women from the town?”

He looks horrified. “No! No. First, who said we weren’t attracted to you? And second, we do not simply… run around fornicating.”

So they’re actually attracted to me? It’s not like I’m just around when they’re horny? Or a stiff breeze is making them erect? Or they see the crackling in the fireplace and their sprung? It’s me?

Whoa.

And Prince Arlys seems pretty upset at the idea that they’ve been running around using their big erections on random village women. I wonder why.

“So, you’re virgins?” I ask, feeling doubtful.

Now he laughs, and I like the sound. “No, not virgins, but not, uh, the type that just runs around like that either.”

I consider his words. “Is it weird having seen everyone naked? It must be if all the ladies know you guys are hung like horses.”

He stares at me.

I take that as a sign to continue. “The few men I’ve seen naked were tiny and hairy. It wasn’t much to look at.”

He clears his throat and tucks some of his long, dark hair behind his ear. “Being a prince, and, uh, well-endowed, can be appealing to some of the womenfolk.”

“I can see that,” I say, nodding my head.

Lying down on my pillow, I glance over at him. He’s watching me. Those green eyes of his so vibrant that I wish I could stare at this man forever. I hate how beautiful they are, and that they look at me with disappointment so often.

“You’re pretty quiet, most of the time.”

He gives a half smile. “I have a lot on my mind.”

“Like what?”

For a second, he looks like he might not answer, but then he does. “My father. My people. Even Prince Drogo and Prince Rinan. They all need a solution to this illness. They need hope that we can get free from this curse once and for all. I want to give them that hope.”

“You feel a lot of responsibility to the people around you.”

After a minute, he nods.

“It must be a pretty heavy weight to have on your shoulders.”

“It is,” he says quietly.

“One thing about heavy weights is they get easier with more help. Maybe I can help you.”

There’s a flicker of something in his eyes. “Helping to cure the illness would be all I need.”

I smile. “I can do that, but I can do more.” Rolling a little closer to him, I place a hand on his bare chest hesitantly. “What do you need from me?”

He’s focused now, his gaze locked onto me. “Need?”

I nod. “What can I do for you?”

He closes his eyes and a groan slips from his lips.
