In the meantime, the bonding ceremony itself was almost a blur. Levi could hardly hear the words that Kozien spoke, hardly even heard his own vows as he read them. The only thing that was clear was Cora—her beautiful sparkling eyes glowing with love, her stunning smile, and her promise to be with him no matter what.
He felt like he didn’t land back in reality until the ceremony itself was over and the celebrations began.
“It was my mother’s dress,” she told him, as they held each other close, dancing to traditional Lorr music. “This is the dress she got married in. She and my father have had such a long and loving marriage, she thought it might bring us the same luck.”
Levi felt his heart swell at those words, and he knew their families were well and truly entwined now.
“I love you, Cora,” he told her, as he’d told her a hundred times a day since that first time, right after he almost lost her.
Cora smiled, leaning up and kissing him softly. “I love you, too,” she whispered as she pulled away. “And I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”
“No matter what,” he told her.
“No matter what,” Cora echoed.
Chapter 39
Cora was happy with the speed of everything. Since they had finished their mission, being bonded to him for life superseded all else, and it couldn’t come soon enough. She had never been more certain of anything in her life.
The drawn-out weeks of finishing up everything after the takedown of the drug facility had seemed longer than they actually were because of how wrong it felt not to officially start their life together although their lives had been inexorably intertwined since the first day they met.
Now that the love they had felt for each other from the beginning was sealed, it wasn’t just her life that was at peace. So was her heart.
“What are you doing in there?” Levi called to her as she added the finishing touches to her tousled curly hair.
“Just enjoying the fact that we have all the time in the world,” she called back.
Of course, she was taking her time. She knew what he was waiting for, but she was going to enjoy her little game of faux-obliviousness.
Satisfied with her finished look, she strolled out to her eager husband who was standing in the living room.
“Now that we have all of this time to ourselves, whatever shall we do with it?” Cora asked teasingly as she threw herself down onto a luxurious couch. A coy smile pulled at her lips.
She had changed into a thin dress that appeared to cling to the curves of her body, leaving little to the imagination. She knew Levi would be enticed to remove it completely seeing her seductive shape through such transparent material.
From his look of desire, she could tell he knew exactly what she was doing by putting that on. She could play innocent all she wanted, but he knew her better than anyone ever had.
Still, she loved the playfulness of it all.
She saw Levi adjust his growing bulge, although instead of concealing it, he was putting it on display.
Cora lifted a leg over the back of the couch, hiking up her dress to her thigh with the promise of exposing more.
Levi walked over to her and stroked her calf all the way up to where the dress stopped. “We can do anything that you want. But I have a pretty good idea of where we can start.” He squeezed her thigh.
Cora’s body tingled at the invitation.
No one was around. They were alone in their house with no imminent danger on the horizon. She felt excited at the absence of constraints in doing anything and everything with him.
She didn’t need to be an adrenaline junkie to get off. She just needed Levi and his satisfying cock.
Cora arched her body up, allowing the hem of the dress and everything between to fall to her breasts, exposing that she was wearing absolutely nothing underneath. Levi saw through the thin material that nothing lay between him and her beyond his own clothes.
“I think you’re wearing too many garments,” Cora suggested as she flicked her raised toe against his contained erection.
