I wobble, dazed and kiss-drunk, back into Mel’s. The diner goes up in applause, hoots and hollers ringing out from the regulars.

“Y’all better tip good then, if it was such a show,” I holler back.

Laughter adds to the clapping. My cheeks heat, but I don’t really care. Finn Camden just claimed me with a mind-numbing kiss in front of the whole diner.

I walk on air the rest of the afternoon and into the dinner rush. Cutter is grumpier than usual, shouting orders at me from the window. I tune out his bitching, knowing it’s got nothing to do with me and everything to do with being understaffed. We’re slammed with take-out orders for soup, and I’m dead on my feet after running around trying to do three jobs at once.

I’m finishing up, about to close it down, and delivering food to my regular Henry when Reid walks in, heading straight for me. He’s dressed in his uniform pants and T-shirt, looking delicious.

“What are you doing here?” I say with a smile, hand on my hip.

“I came to grab the station’s order and heard that you might be working,” he flirts. His eyes scan the length of my body, his gaze hungry. When he gets to his sweatshirt, he smirks.

I cock my head to the side, teasing him back. “You should check out the menu. Cutter added the Firehouse Special while I was gone. I think it might be the first new item in two decades.”

“I already know what I want, and she isn’t on the menu.”

My heart flutters at the way he returns my words from weeks ago. I like that he flirts with me. It makes me feel wanted. He tugs me to him, planting a kiss on my lips. He’s demanding, his lips molding mine where he wants and leaving me breathless.

“About time,” Henry calls. “I could have died before y’all got together.”

I cut my eyes at the white-haired, bushy-eyebrowed alpha who has been sitting in my section and giving me shit for the last year. He’s a menace in suspenders and a cowboy hat, but his hands shake when he raises his tea glass to his lips. He winks at me, and I roll my eyes.

“You could die at any minute. You’re eighty-nine, Henry,” I tease.

He lets out a gruff laugh. “Exactly my point.”

I ignore him and turn back to Reid, who is laughing at us. “Come on, alpha. Let me get your order.”

That’s two for two with these men staking a claim. I have no doubt Finn told Reid about his little stunt earlier. I could be annoyed. It’s a little much at my work. But my heart can’t be mad at how they’re making it known that I’m theirs.

I lead him to the register and gather the order together while he watches. My body heats and my cheeks feel flush, but I pretend I’m not getting more turned on the longer he looks at me. When I finally get him out the door ten minutes and two kisses later, I’m too turned on to be at work.

I hurry through checking Henry out and locking up, then hide in the bathroom to calm the fuck down. I splash water on my face before I feel calm enough to face Cutter.

“Does this mean you’re quitting?” Cutter grumbles.

I eye him warily. I don’t love working doubles daily, but he’s a good boss, and I hate disappointing him. “I’m moving in with them. Finn asked me to cut back my hours or give up one of my jobs. I told him I don’t know what I will do. But I’m gonna work less.”

Cutter puts down the cleaning supplies and turns on me, crossing his arms. He looks like a giant biker ready to unleash fury. He studies me for a long time, and I don’t know what he’s looking for, but he eventually finds it.

He grins, a genuine one that transforms his face and makes his eyes crinkle at the corners. “Good for you, Cammie, and the kids. Those two will take care of you guys. I’ll talk to Margaret and get you down to only lunches on the next schedule. Let me know if you decide you need to step away.”

Relief surges through me. I throw my arms around the gruff alpha. “Thanks, old man.”

He snorts an almost laugh.

“You all have been so good to me. No matter what I decide, I appreciate all you’ve done.”

He pats my back awkwardly, and I laugh, giving him one last squeeze before I pull away.

He turns away from me, resuming his cleaning. “Go on now and get home to those babies. I’ll see you next week. Margaret and Jasmine are back tomorrow, so you take the time to get settled.”

The whole way home, I’m riding on that earlier high. I’ve got two mates and a whole life to settle into.
