“I can see that, but why? I thought we decided to wait on paint until we decide what we want to do with the space?”
Millie turns to look at me. “But I did decide.”
I can’t hold back my grin because it’s such a Millie move. As soon as you think you have her figured out, she goes and changes it up. “Oh, did you now?”
“Yep.” She turns back to the wall and continues to pin up color swatches.
I walk behind her and wrap my arms around her. Leaning down, I give her shoulder a quick kiss before moving my way up her neck. Stopping right below her ear, I whisper, “And what did you decide?”
She gives a slight shiver as she leans into me.
“I was thinking we could use it as a nursery.” As she says the words, she takes my hands and moves them to her stomach.
My eyes go wide as understanding dawns on me, I twist her around to look at me. “You mean—”
Millie looks at me with tear-brimmed eyes and a wide smile. “Doctor confirmed this morning.”
I yip and yell, picking her up and spinning in a circle. Millie laughs and squeals as she holds on to my shoulders.
When I stop and finally put her back down on the ground, she interlocks her fingers behind my neck. “Are you sure you’re okay with this? We’ve hardly even talked about having kids yet.”
I look down at my beautiful wife and give her a kiss that I hope tells her just how okay I am. When I pull away, our breaths are ragged.
I put my forehead to hers and whisper, “I’m all in.”
The End.
