Even through the red scars and black tattoos that slash across his bearded face, I can see the terror in his eyes.
The fucker is pale as a ghost.
“What?” I demand to know. “Fucking tell me already.”
“It’s the Black Cat, sir. Rozalia Dorn. She’s here.”

Rozalia
“Showtime.”
Tytus’ voice is giddy with excitement. Hell, I don’t blame him.
How often do you get to crash a king’s coronation?
“I’m guessing that means everything’s in place?” I ask, swallowing the last bits of my dessert.
“Yeah, obvio—wait a minute, are you eating?”
“I might have swiped a slice of cake,” I shrug, licking the frosting from my fingertips.
“Just a slice?”
“Okay, maybe the whole thing. Hey, I’m PMSing over here, give me a break.”
“Too much info, Roz,” Tytus grumbles, but I can practically hear his smirk.
He lives for this shit.
So do I.
“Pussy,” I playfully respond.
“I’m not the one PMSing.”
“Could have fooled me.”
Wiping my glazed fingers off against a black drape, I stare down through a vine-covered window and drink in my view of the chaos unfolding below.
Those idiots. Already running around like headless chickens. And all it took was a single holographic image of me.
Who knew I was that terrifying?
“Do you just want to keep talking, or shall we set this place on fire?” Tytus asks.
“Light the match, baby.”
“As you wish.”
The sound of Tytus flipping his switches and clicking his buttons is music to my ears. The symphony blends in perfectly with the rising panic bubbling up from below.
For a moment, I can’t help but pause.
That’s me down there, causing all this mayhem. A perfect double. Black pixie cut, red lipstick, green eyes glowing against my pale-ass skin. The only difference between me and that thing is that I’m filled with blood and guts. That thing is just a bunch of lights. An illusion. But fuck me if it isn’t a sexy illusion.
Sure, maybe I went a little overboard on the contours of my body. Perhaps my cheekbones aren’t quite that sharp, or my tits exactly that perky. But I wanted to remind the future king what he’s been missing out on.
