I’m stopped cold.
The naked man who was tied to the St. Andrew’s cross is splayed out on the ground, still unconscious.
But Rozalia is nowhere to be found.
“… 89 Bullosk Street…” Flavian continues to mindlessly rattle off addresses, but I’m not listening anymore.
Rozalia is gone.
Panicked, I start to search the entire office.
She’s not here.
That fucking girl.
“… Those are the only ones I know of… I swear…” Flavian mumbles. His head bobs like a man on the brink of unconsciousness.
Grabbing one last fistful of his hair, I pull him up to face me.
“Are you sure? Those are the only addresses?”
“Yes… I promise… Please don’t kill me.”
“I’d be lying if I said this has been a pleasure,” I huff. “But you’re a human trafficker, and likely a pedophile too—but even if you weren’t any of those things, I still like to tie my loose ends up in pretty little bows..”
“No—”
With a vicious slash, I tear open Flavian’s throat. His skin might as well be butter, and that protruding Adam’s apple of his comes tumbling out in a stream of blood.
“Asshole,” I mumble.
Wiping my blade off on his shirt, I let him choke on his own blood.
Rozalia couldn’t have gotten far.
She’s going to pay for making me worry.
First, though, I quickly check on the unconscious man by the cross.
“Where did she go?” I ask, roughly slapping him awake.
“… What? I… What’s going on?” he asks, slowly coming to.
Fuck. I’m not going to learn anything for this poor sap.
“Nothing. This is all a dream. Leave quickly, before it turns back into a nightmare..”
I don’t wait around for him to get up.
Instead, I head straight for the office door.
When I open it up, I find the ogre who was waiting outside. He’s lying in a pool of his own blood.
I lift his shirt. There’s a holster, but no gun. There’s also a bullet hole in his temple.
Rozalia must have shot him in rhythm with the pounding bass.
Clever girl. Too bad it won’t work out for her.
