She’s not ready to have my child. To have our child.
She needs to want it. She needs to want me for more than just a night of fun. She needs to want me forever.
Here’s what I can do for you, princess.
“Oh my god…”
When my teeth graze the tender skin around her throat, she breaks. Her thighs clench around my hand and her nails dig so deeply into my forearm that they could slash open an artery.
But I don’t care. This is my way of showing her that she’s wrong. No one has ever mattered as much to me as she does. Before we ever met, I was obsessed about her. But even that obsession pales in comparison to how I feel now that I’ve gotten to know her.
She’s more than a pretty face and a perfect body.
She’s the one.
And as she comes all over my hand, and her hot skin sizzles against my body, I think she finally understands that she isn’t mine because I bought her.
She’s mine because she wants to be mine.

When I wake up, the room is almost entirely pitch black.
Even with the pale slice of moonlight washing in through the window, it takes a second for my eyes to adjust.
Francesca breathes softly in bed next to me, and I can still smell her juices on my hand as I brush my fingers through my hair and sit up.
What woke me up?
It doesn’t take long before I get my answer in an all too familiar sound.
The buzzing of my phone.
Fucking hell.
If someone is calling this late, I should probably answer it. Especially after what went down earlier tonight.
It all went as planned, even if I hadn’t taken Francesca’s feelings into account—at least, not as much as I should have. It’s a mistake I swear to never make again.
Rolling out of bed, I fumble through my pants and grab my phone just as it stops ringing.
I have a bunch of missed calls from Leonid. Some texts too. Mostly, he’s asking how things went with Domenico, but some of the newer ones are asking if everything’s alright.
He deserves a response, even if I don’t want to risk waking my sleeping beauty. I don’t want to leave her, either. But I don’t have much of a choice.
Dialing up Leonid, I step out into the dark hall and hope that everything has fallen into place.
Really, I should have been checking up on all of this the second Domenico and Sonia left. But Francesca was my number one priority.
She’ll always be my number one priority.
She’s safe now, though. That means I can afford to focus on something else, if even only for a few minutes.
“Where the hell have you been?” Leonid quickly answers.
“Taking care of some personal stuff. Do we have what we need?”
