She deserves to pay.

That’s all I can think about, and soon enough, I’ve ripped out my cellphone and called Ray.

“Do we know where the Greeks are staying tonight?” I ask, taking a sharp turn to nowhere.

“I think Maksim might have found out,” Ray responds, chewing on something. He’s probably having dinner. Fuck, when’s the last time I ate?

This stifling heat has me constantly feeling somewhere halfway between starved and stuffed.

“Give him a call and then text me the address,” I order.

“Hey, you know I have other work to do, right?”

“This is important.”

“I could say the same thing about what I’m doing.”

A sneer twists my face as I push down even harder on the pedal. “How did I get stuck with you?” I growl into the receiver.

“You got lucky, that’s how,” Ray laughs. “If you think I’m hard to deal with, wait until you really get to know the Kilpatricks.”

He’s not wrong. For as stubborn as Ray is, his bosses are royalty. Much like me, they’re used to getting what they want, when they want it.

Men like us don’t barter… but I’ll make an exception for this fucker. He had my back today at the house of the rising sun. When my mind went blank, and I took out my gun and pointed it at that pig who dared touch what was supposed to be mine, Ray didn’t hesitate to line Retsos up beneath his own barrel.

If he had been just a little bit slower, I might have died there.

It was a foolish mistake. One that I made because I wasn’t in my right mind.

I’m still not in the right state of mind.

Fucking hell.

Sophia.

She’s burrowed into my brain like a parasite.

There’s only one way to fix this.

“If you get me an address, I’ll tell you where you can find a particularly pretty and eager young prostitute. Not too far from our hotel. She tried to get to me first, but I figured I’d save her for you.”

There’s a pause on the other end of the line. “How kind of you…”

“I’m a real prince charming.”

“… I’ll talk to Maksim.”

I’m not much for saying thank you, and when I understand that I’m about to get what I need, I hang up and shoot even further into the darkness.

Something has snapped in me.

I don’t know where I’m going or what I’m going to do when I get there. But I know full well who I need to see—whether she wants to see me again or not.

Sophia Xiphias.

I’m coming, princess.
