She stares down at me, her mouth open and hesitancy dances in her eyes.

She looks to her left. I get the sinking feeling she doesn’t want another child with me.

“Okay,” she finally says looking back at me. “Let’s make another baby.”

The euphoric feeling swells my chest, I flip her over to her back, lift her legs over my shoulders and fuck her hard. I want this more than I want my last breath.

“I love you,” I whisper down to her as I drive into her. “I fucking love you.”

“I love you too,” she cries out as she shoots off like a rocket soaking my dick.

I speed up my strokes wanting to reach my end as well. My balls tighten, my eyes roll back and I come undone shooting off inside of her. I don’t have the right to pray. Mother says I’m too evil to talk to God, but I close my eyes and ask that this time, gets her pregnant.

I collapse down beside her, immediately pulling her into me. She tosses a leg over mine and places her head on my shoulder.

We lay in silence, trying to catch our breath. My heartrate finally slows.

“You don’t happen to have twins in your family, right?” she asks suddenly.

I don’t want to admit that I don’t know my family. I’ve never met my mother’s family and I don’t know who my father is.

“No,” I lie for the first time ever to her.

“Good,” she says, “because I’m not trying to have two of your giant ass babies at once.”

I drag her on top of me as I tickle her sides. Her laughter sounds like heaven to my ears. I pull the covers over us and get us settled in bed.

Chapter Thirty-Six

Back In Blood

Beast

Summer is passed out on my chest, but my mind can’t rest.

“You know what you have to do. Set me free,” Mother says in my head.

“Let the bitch out, Kid. It’s time,” Priest agrees.

Gently, I roll Summer over to her side. She doesn’t stir. I make sure the covers are pulled up over her bare shoulders. I place a kiss on her cheek and my pulse races.

I slide out of the bed, my bare feet brushing against the thick carpet. I’ve held the red haze at bay long enough. Like a light switch, I shut my eyes and allow my mother to come to the forefront.

I quickly dress and make my way down the stairs. Stopping at the back door, I grab my black duffle and head out of the house.

After their first date, I researched everything I could on Andrew Greenly. I know who his parents are, where he went to school, I even know his credit score. Finding his house took less time than his credit score.

I park the stolen minivan around the corner from Andrew’s brownstone. Grabbing my duffle off the passenger seat, I step out of the car and shut the door.

The street is quiet for this time of night. Only a few people are walking along the sidewalk. I take the leather gloves out of my pocket and place them on before pulling the hood of my sweatshirt over my head. I then make my way to the back of Andrew’s home.

I hop the fence that cuts off his back yard from his neighbors. He has a Ring camera at the front door but nothing back here. There isn’t even a motion light in his back yard. He made this easier than it should have been.

Walking up to the sliding glass door, I peer inside. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen the inside of his house. The night he was released from the hospital after their first date, I came to visit him. He was sound asleep as I stood over his bed determined to kill him. It took all of Priest’s teachings to get me to walk away and keep him alive that night. All I could see was his hand on top of hers at that table. No one got to touch my Summer.

Now, nothing would stop me from watching the life drain from his eyes. I easily pop the lock to the sliding glass door entering through his kitchen. Closing the door, I listen for any sound in the house. There is music coming from upstairs.

I make my way up the stairs remembering which floorboards to avoid from my last visit here. The closer I get to the sound of the music, I can also hear the light sounds of shower water going.
