“Here?” Her head popped up a little, and I nodded, stroking her hair.
“Right here,” I answered and felt her lay her head back down, this time on my pec, her ear pressed against my heart. I wondered if she could hear it beating for her. If she realized this wasn’t just some forbidden attraction or stolen moment we could one day look back on fondly.
