She was going to ask about my office.
She was going to want to see this fucking playbook that more than existed but was nowhere as fucking top secret as I had rambled on to make her believe. She opened her mouth, and my heart stilled.
If she asked to see the room, I’d show her.
I’d let my fucking stalker freak flag fly and hope to god that one day, she could find it in her heart to forgive me. Or we could cuff her to the bed in there, the dark thing inside of me whispered. We could cuff her and keep her with us. Always. Breed her over and over.
“What is it?” I asked again. She opened her mouth and then shut it before shaking her head.
“Nothing.” She breathed in and exhaled slowly. “We should go inside and get the stuff for s'mores.” I didn’t like the way her eyes seemed to be avoiding mine. Knowing I was more than putting my ass on the line, I raised my hand from her waist and held softly gripped her chin, forcing her to look at me.
“What is it, Kait?”
“It’s going to sound cliché, and I don’t want to be that girl. Not after everything and—" Nerves always made my girl ramble.
“Shh…” The tip of my finger covered her mouth. “Deep breath,” I ordered, and she did as I asked. “Exhale,” I ordered, shocked and turned on by the way she complied. Her dark eyes locked with mine.
“What is it?” I asked again. Big red flags were waving back and forth behind me to shut the hell up. Let the subject slide and talk about something else, you fucking moron! My finger moved off her perfect lips, and I held my breath, wondering what the hell I had just done.
“What are we doing?”
“Right now? We’re enjoying the fire and going to make some s'mores,” I responded quickly, shocked as hell how calm I sounded. Everything I had ever wanted was finally in my arms, and I was tempting fate more than Kait in a little sexy black dress.
“No.” She shook her head. “I mean us. You and me.”
“You’re mine.”
“And you're mine,” she quickly added.
Immediately, my hand took a possessive hold of the side of her jaw. I was captivated by her, that was nothing new. Her eyes fluttered shut as she leaned into my caress, absorbing me. For a moment, I was struck with a thought. My girl had been just as hungry for my attention and touch as I’d been for hers. I had wasted so much damn time, time we would never get back, because I’d had it stuck in my head that I needed things to be perfect.
Things weren’t perfect now, yet the world wasn’t tumbling down at our feet for finally taking this moment.
“Then that’s it, bug. You’re mine, I’m yours. Completely.”
“I get that but…” She pulled away from my hand. An adorable stern look fell over her face. “Is this… Are we trying to see where this goes or are we?—"
“Okay, stop there,” I ordered like a dick. My tongue ran over my teeth as I held her face in place, our eyes locked. “Where did I come?”
“Excuse me?” Her face turned pink, and she tried to scurry away, but I wasn’t going to let her. Not when time was most definitely not on my side. Tomorrow, I would be following her back home and spending the night at her place. I would have to force myself to drive back. But maybe I hadn’t made that as clear as I’d thought.
“Where. Did. I. Come?” I slowly repeated, enunciating each word.
“Red—"
“Where, Kaitlyn?”
“Inside of me,” she whispered, and my cock started to liven up despite having been spent and sore from taking her so many damn times.
“Inside of you. Bareback inside of you,” I added, dipping my head low enough for us to share the same breath as our lips hovered over one another. “What do you think that means?”
“I’m not sure,” she breathed. “I know what I want it to mean. I know what I want, but you’re not the easiest to read, Red.”
“I’m yours, Kait. Always have been. I’m your boyfriend. Your man. And I sure as fuck hope, sooner than later, the father of your kid.”
“My boyfriend?” she asked whisper soft with a dreamy little smile. One I would always see in my head now when I thought of her. “You’re my boyfriend, Red?” I was more than familiar with that teasing tone. Playful but meaningful.
“Bug.”
