“Perfect,” I whispered and meant it. Everything was right in my world, which hardly ever happened.
“That you are,” he said sweetly before dipping his head and kissing the tip of my nose. “Rest,” he bossily ordered, and if I weren't so tired, I would have rolled my eyes.
“Rest?”
“Hmm,” he grunted. “I told you you’re going to need your energy.” I felt my lips twitch as I settled into his side. My leg went over his thigh and my arm over his middle.
“You didn’t use my energy now?” I grinned at him. His eyes sparkled with mischief, giving me a peek at the boy I once knew before his dreams had disappeared with a knee injury.
“Give me an hour, and I’m going to eat you until your legs shake and you're hoarse from screaming my name while you beg for my dick.” I shivered, and my nipples tightened. God, that sounded hot. Warmth pooled between my legs like I hadn’t just had an orgasm that shook up my entire life.
“Promises, promises,” I teased as I glanced up at him. My body stuttered still as I watched something flash over his features. Something intense and real. “For?”
“Today. Best. Day. Ever.” I smiled dreamily just as sleep pulled me under while Red’s big hand tenderly stroked my hair.
CHAPTER 7
RED
My arms wrapped around Kait’s middle as we stared at the bonfire burning in front of us.
“Warm?” I asked softly at her temple and felt her nod. “Hungry? Thirsty?” She turned to look at me with a knowing look.
“I told you.” Her pretty lips twitched, and I frowned.
“I don’t know what you’re talking abo?—”
“Red!” she laughed. “You can’t sit still.”
“What am I doing now?” I asked with a chuckle. My head rested on her shoulder as she settled into me a little further.
“You’re trying to find any reason to get up,” she mumbled. I nuzzled my nose into her neck.
“That’s not true.” Not completely. I fucking loved having her in my arms. The night was nice, and the fire was burning bright. “Plus, I’m pretty sure you were the one who couldn’t sit still a couple of hours ago,” I reminded her, and the sound of her laughter filled my soul with a happiness like none I had ever known.
“That wasn’t fair.” She turned and straddled me. Fuck me, I’d had her on my lap more than a couple of times during the day, but no matter what, it blew me away just how great she felt like that. Like she fit me perfectly. “It was beyond unfair, and you know it.”
“I don’t know. I think it was pretty fair.” I shrugged like what I had done to her hadn’t been one of the hottest things I’d ever experienced. She looked around at the empty backyard and leaned forward.
“Holding me down on you while you…” Her cheeks brightened, but my girl was on a mission, and her sexual appetite, I had discovered, more than happily I’ll add, matched my own. “You sucking on my nipples was not fair.”
