“Carl, Ritchie’s out back,” I say.

He smiles. “Thanks Nick. Make him suffer.”

I grin. “Oh, I will.”

Kinsley whacks Torrance across the face with the Glock. “You killed my sister-in-law.” She cries.

I glance at my sister’s body and sigh.

“Natalia, I can’t believe you’re still doing this,” I say.

“Doing what?” Nico asks through the earbud.

“Natalia,” I bite out.

She slowly sits up. “Fuck, Nick, you’re no fun.”

“Nico, she was playing dead,” I tell him.

He laughs. “She hadn’t done that since we were kids.”

“I know.” I shake my head.

“She played dead?” Torrance asks in disbelief.

I ignore that asshole.

“Kinsley, I’m sorry. Natalia probably wanted Torrance to think she was dead.”

Natalia sighs. “Yeah. I did. He was so angry when he found out I was the one who killed her. My bullet-proof vest was struck. So I played dead until you got here.”

I chuckle as I approach my wife and pull her into my arms. My fist rams into Torrance's cheek.

His body hits the floor.

“Time for you to pay for all the shit you’ve put people through,” I say before meeting my wife’s gaze.

“Mrs. Pitucco, are you all right?” I ask.

She leans up and kisses my lips. “Now I am.”
