“Why do you owe both of them money?”

“It’s a long story. Tell Franco it’s not what it seems. He has to believe that.”

I slid a hand over my shoulder. “He isn’t here. When he returns, I’ll tell him. Quinn, we have to end this. We’re family. You and I ride for each other. How can I help?”

“Little cousin, we have to meet in person. At your father’s house.”

Silence.

“Kennedy, I know that’s the last place you want to be, but I think we should tie up all the loose ends there.”

My eyes grew in size, then they narrowed to slits. “Tie them up and burn off the ends.”

He chuckled. “Yes.”

“Quinn, I got your back.”

He exhaled. “Good. Meet me at the house in three days. We’ll have a party like our mothers did.”

I squeezed my fist over my beating heart. “We’ll do it all for our beautiful mothers,” I sniffled.

“Yeah. See you soon, Kennedy.”

“Bye.” I disconnected the call and pondered on his words.

“Was this it for Quinn and I? It was time to avenge our mothers. I hated that Franco got caught up in the middle of my family squabble. Maybe if we could’ve met in another life, we could’ve had happiness.

“Remo?”

The man, built like a body builder, stepped closer. “Yes, Kennedy?”

“Take me to your boss.”
