I scanned the faces around the poker room. “This room is safe. Bullets cannot enter from the outside. I’ll handle the unwanted guests.” I turned on my heels.

“Where’s Kennedy?” Duke asked.

My jaw ticked. I glanced over my shoulder, meeting his gaze. “She’s safe.”

He nodded. “I’m happy to help.”

I flashed a fake smile. “I’ve got it covered.”

I continued on my path. Did that asshole think I’d let him get close to her again after what he did to her?

“Not a fucking chance,” I mumbled under my breath as I exited the room.

Saro stood in the center of the hallway gripping an AR-fifteen. “Boss, what weapon would you like?”

Grinning, I rubbed my hands together. “The small rocket launcher.”

He smiled. “Yeah, good choice.”

Clip stood with his back against the wall between the gambling rooms, giving himself a clear view of the back entrance and the front.

“Franco, Lungy arrived at the Gala shortly after we left,” Clip stated.

“It’s a good thing we left Piero and a few other men on the rooftop across from the Gala. I guess Derwin is equally scared of myself and Lungy.”

Clip shook his head. “You should gut him.”

We grinned at each other.

“Like a fucking pig,” I growled.

Screeching tires and the sound of automatic weapons filled the air.

“Lungy sent his men into a bloodbath.” Dark laughter rippled in my chest.

Saro exited the supply closet and tossed the rocket launcher into my grip.

“If anything happens to her...Clip, no one will be safe.”

“Franco, Bonnie and Ettore will get Kennedy to safety,” Clip affirmed.

Saro cracked the door open. “Boss, we’ll cover you.”

He darted out the door, firing an AR-fifteen.

Clip and I slipped out of the door next. We crouched in front of the Rolls Royce. I peered across the parking lot. Kennedy fired an AR-fifteen with precision, dropping Lungy’s men like they were amateur mafia soldiers. She held her own.

Resting the rocket launcher on my shoulder, I shouted, “Get her out of here now!”

Ettore and Bonnie followed my orders. Worry struck Kennedy’s beautiful features and my heart slammed into my ribcage. All I cared about was getting her to safety. The moment the SUV cleared the large parking lot, I fired the rocket into the sea of trucks.Doors and tires flew in the air. The explosion rocked the ground beneath our feet. The rocket left massive holes in the parking lot.

So what the club wouldn’t open for a few weeks because of the damage. I only cared that Kennedy was safe.

***P***

An hour later, I entered the house. Saro remained behind to pay the police to look the other way and ensured the carnage was disposed of properly.

Perched on a gold leather stool at the gold and silver marble countertop, Kennedy stared at the takeout containers.
