A hearty chuckle rumbled in my chest. “Yes.”

“In that case, I promise to stay in bed until it’s time to leave.”

I arched a brow. “Who said you were coming on the killing trip?”

Her eyes narrowed. “Me, Franco.”

My lips pressed against hers as I stepped over the threshold of our bedroom.

A wicked grin lifted my lips. “Kennedy, you better believe you’ll be there.”

Her face brightened as I placed her on the bed. “The doctor ordered you to rest too.”

I stood to my full height, running a hand over my tousled hair. “That’s true.”

She patted the spot beside her. “Get in, Thor.”

“Kennedy,” I warned.

“What are you going to do about it?”

Climbing into bed I pulled her into my arms. “Hold you.”

“Did you just give in to me?” she cooed.

I blew out a breath theatrically. “It appears I did.”

“Remove the t-shirt, Franco,” she said pulling back.

Grabbing the hem of the t-shirt, I yanked it over my head, and tossed it to the floor. Her hands brushed over my back and chest.

“Franco, you won’t hide from me. I love all of you.”

Gripping her chin, my tongue skated over her lower lip. “Thanks for loving all of me.”

“Baby, what other way is there to love you?”

Her sweet words squeezed my heart. Smiling at her, I took in Kennedy’s beautiful cinnamon skin. “I’d die for you, Kennedy.”

“Franco, no. You’ll fight like hell to stay with me. So, we can grow old together.”

“I damn sure will.” How did I get so lucky to have this gorgeous woman in my life? I’d cherish Kennedy forever.

Resting my head against the headboard, I placed her head on my chest.

“I’m so sleepy,” she yawned.

Kennedy DeLuca sought me out this evening so we could rest together. My slick wife. I inwardly laughed. “I know,” I whispered.

“My beautiful swan, we’ll take down Duke and any other enemies that come for us,” I murmured stroking her hair.

“Yes, together,” she breathed.

“Sleep, Franco. We have a long day tomorrow.”

I was ready to fill the streets with my enemy Duke’s crimson blood.

“Time to burn, Duke,” I muttered.
