“None of your men were at my gambling club the night they tried to take me and my woman out.”

His eyes narrowed, then his gaze moved to my left hand. “Wait, when did you get married?”

“A few days ago.”

He smiled and lifted his glass. “Congratulations.”

“Thank you, Orazio.” We clinked glasses.

“Salute,” we yelled.

Ettore appeared, pouring more whiskey into our glasses, then stepped away.

“Orazio, we’ll meet again soon to discuss how we’ll divide Duke's territory.”

“Sounds good. Again, Franco, I just want to run my territory and keep assholes out who want in.”

I nodded. “Same here.”

“Franco, maybe we didn’t have to hate each other’s guts. Lungy made you sound like a real jerk.”

My brows rose. “That’s funny, because Duke said neither you nor Lungy could be trusted.”

His eyes darkened. “That fucking bastard hoped we’d go to war.”

I shook my head as I realized just how much Duke hated me.

“Whenever you and I met, I never felt like you’d stab me in the back. It’s good to know we’re on the same page,” I stated.

“Franco, I hope we can make lucrative deals together in the future.”

“Yeah, me too.”

I puffed my cigar, glaring at him. “Orazio, no more Thor references. Only my wife can say I look like Thor.”

He shook his head and chuckled. “You got it, Franco.”

My blood boiled. I was so fed up with Duke's bullshit.

Duke, I can’t wait to hunt you down.

Sitting in my office, I stared at the computer screen as I tapped away at the keys. I was working on my newest project.

My phone vibrated. I peeked at the screen and hit the answer button.

“Hey Quinn,” I said, propping the device up against the monitor, so I could see Quinn on FaceTime.

“Hello Franco. How’s my cousin?” He sat on a sofa shirtless in what looked like a hotel. That was smart. He couldn’t take any chances with Duke. I had men watching Quinn anyway. Duke wouldn’t get close to him.

“She’s still sore. I demanded she stay in bed one more day.”

He arched a brow. “Demanded?”

My brows lowered. “She gave a similar look when I barked the order. She won’t listen, will she?”

“Not at all,” he laughed.
