I cupped my hands over my rising cock.

“You scored big last season in football.”

I nodded. Swiping up my drink, I sipped slow.

“I’ll tell you about Summer. We met at a frat party last month. She wants to become my girlfriend. She’s been patient. Most times we sit in silence. Or she’ll sit at my desk and study. She asked would I allow her to heal my broken heart. I told her I doubt anyone can heal it. She climbed in my lap, kissing me…”

Vicky rose, pacing in front of the large window over looking the city of Princeton.

“Summer attempted to slip her hand in my pants…”

Thrash. My eyes shot to the wall. The lamp shattered and the tiny pieces hit the floor.

“Fuck you!” She roared, clenching her eyes shut, tears spilling over her red cheeks, dropping to her knees.

I hurled over the coffee table, falling to my knees pulling her into my arms.

“Fuck, I hate how vulnerable you make me.”

My lips pressed against her temple. “Vicky, I didn’t fuck her. I couldn’t. Owen, Hayden, and I sat around talking about school over Thanksgiving break. I lied and said I was having sex with a few girls. How could I when my heart belonged to you?

The football star wasn’t getting pussy, because he’s fucked up in the head. Sitting in the presence of other women thinking about the woman he can’t have.” I talked about myself in third person.

“Now here we are. You won’t admit to your family you want to be with me. I realize before I offered for us to become a couple in secret. But I don’t think I can do that anymore, Vicky.”

“I hate not having you in my life.” Scooping her up into my arms, I carried her into the bedroom, laying her on the bed.

“Did you eat lunch?”

“No.”

“What time did you eat breakfast?”

“I hadn’t eaten in a few days.”

“Shit, Vicky.” I stepped across the room, rummaging through her luggage for a T-shirt. I peeled back a layer of clothes. My eyes widened. She kept my T-shirt and carried it with her. Not sure she wanted me to know she had it. I hid the shirt under a stack of clothes and grabbed one of her T-shirts. I stalked into the bathroom and ran hot water in the tub and placed the shirt on the marble counter.

“I’ll order room service while you’re taking a bath.” I sat at her side.

“Vicky, I won’t leave you.”

She grabbed my hand. “I want us to be a couple. Here and at my school. We can travel together. But we can’t reveal our relationship to our families.”

“You mean, to your family. My mother has known for years I liked you. Owen and my father know too.”

Vicky gaped. “Owen, knows?”

“Yes.”

“My mother is the only person who doesn’t know,” she said.

I squeezed the bridge of my nose. “Let me get this straight. You want to be my woman in secret. For how fucking long, Vicky?”

“I don’t know. My brother forbid us to be together. Remember? He said I would wreck your friendship.”

“It’s too late for that. Our friendship hasn’t been the same since early last summer. At this point Vicky, I don’t give a shit who knows.”

“He’s my brother.”
