I raise a brow at her, she has my attention. “What has you intrigued?”

“The thought of a place where you can have fun without worry.”

Wow. She has no idea how spot-on she is with that statement. That is exactly what The Paradise Club is.

“Do you worry when you have fun?” I question her.

Natalia fidgets with the napkin. “The number of eyes on me means I can never relax. No matter where I am, there is always a lens pointed directly at me. And if I can’t see it, it doesn’t mean it’s not there. The last thing I need is someone with a long lens getting images of me frolicking naked on a yacht, let alone getting video of me screwing someone on a deserted beach or something,” she confesses.

“Do you like frolicking naked?” I ask.

She glares at me. “Maybe, never been able to.”

“You’re more than welcome to frolic naked around here.” I grin.

“Like I said, eyes are always on me.” Her comment makes me laugh because she’s right, my eyes would most definitely be on her all right.

“You’re safe here. I have the best security, people won’t get photos of you in here. Does that mean you’ve never had sex in public?” I ask.

She rolls her eyes. “What do you think? I’m not about making a sex tape.”

“Poor little rich girl, can’t have sex in public,” I tease.

Natalia pokes her tongue out at me. “Laugh all you want, but as stupid as it sounds it’s the freedom I crave,” she confesses.

“You didn’t have to be a public figure.”

“You think I chose this life. You do remember who I am, right? It’s not like being famous because your parents are rich or famous, and then you seek this socialite life. There was no other option for me because of my title. I couldn’t have a normal job. My life has been predestined from the moment I was born,” she explains.

“What would you have been if you weren’t a princess?” I ask her, genuinely curious.

Natalia looks up at me with those bright sapphire-blue eyes. “That’s the thing, I have no idea. I know I live in this privileged bubble, so I guess I’ve never been exposed to the possibilities outside of that, or I knew there would never be any because of who I was.”

Wasn’t expecting this level of honesty from her. “You seem to do a lot of good with your charities, a lot more than most privileged people, much more than I have ever done.”

Natalia gives me a small smile. “I like making a difference. It’s so much more rewarding than writing a cheque to see the people impacted by what we give. Like Lilly’s Place for example, my sister-in-law’s charity. Saving women from being trafficked and helping them regain their identity after suffering some of the most horrific things by the cruelest of people. Seeing them go on to thrive when they didn’t think they had any hope, is, I don’t know, amazing,” she tells me, her emotion shining through, her entire face lighting up as she talks about these women.

“They are very lucky to have someone who cares,” I say honestly, placing my hand on hers. She stares down at it before pulling it away from me, just like I had done earlier.

“Wow, this was an interesting first date.” She chuckles, breaking the emotional tension between us.

“First date?”

She waves her hands in the air. “Probably more of a business meeting than a date, I guess.”

Maybe it was. “More like a meeting on how to ruin my life.”

“Did you just make a joke?” She grins.

“I can be funny as well as handsome and well endowed.”

“Oh my gosh, was that another joke? What is happening? You forgot to mention, stubborn, an asshole, and sore loser to poker,” she adds.

“Oh my gosh, did the princess just make a joke, too?” I tease, mocking her. She flips me off which has us both bursting out laughing.

“And by the way, I’m not trying to ruin your life, just inconveniencing it.”

“You’re doing a good job.”
