“I...I don't know what you're talking about,” I say.

But she's already walking away, leaving me standing there alone with my thoughts.

“Stevie, where are you going? You can’t just wander off by yourself! Don’t be dumb!” Sawyer shouts after her.

“Oh fuck off, Sawyer!” She holds up a middle finger and keeps walking.

Sawyer growls and starts to follow her, but I grab his shoulder. “Let me. I’ll make sure she gets back safely. She just needs to come down off and I’m sure she was drinking, too. She probably just needed to blow off steam and she’ll feel silly in front of her brother when she’s sobered up a bit.”

Sawyer doesn’t seem convinced at first, but finally nods reluctantly.

“Alright, man. Make sure she understands though!” Sawyer warns.

“Oh you know I have that covered.” We slap hands and Sawyer turns away, walking towards the dorm while I run to catch up with Stephanie.

“Stevie! Stevie, wait! Come on!” I finally reach her and grab her arm. That stops her from walking on.

“What Hudson? What do you want?” She’s yelling, but luckily no one seems to be around. All out partying still, I guess.

“What were you thinking? Seriously! Do you want to end up like Tricia?”

“Why does it matter anyway to you anyway? Huh?” She raises her hands up, glaring at me.

BECAUSE I FUCKING CARE ABOUT YOU! I close my eyes and swallow the words I’m thinking.

There’s no way I can tell her how I feel right now. Not while she’s like this.

Chapter Eleven

Stephanie

Part of me wants to go back inside and finish what I started with Henrik, but with Hudson standing right here, I realize that I’ll never want anyone the way I want Hudson.

The screaming match suddenly dies as quickly as it started, neither of us able to continue it without revealing things we might not want to say. Certainly I can’t say how my feelings have changed. I know he also needs to tell me something, from the way he instantly drops the argument, but there doesn’t seem to be anything I can say to get it out of him so it just feels easier to give up.

I want Hudson to really care about me, and it scares me that I’ve gone from just being freaky with him to wanting him, for real.

As we walk back to my dorm, I steal glances at Hudson, trying to read his expression. Is he feeling the same way I am? Could he want me too?

The tension between us is palpable, and I struggle to keep my thoughts straight. Finally, I can't take the silence any longer.

“Are you okay?” I ask tentatively, hoping for some sort of sign. Hudson's eyes meet mine, and I see the conflict in them.

“Yeah, I'm okay,” he replies, his voice strained.

We walk back to my dorm in silence. When we get there, I don't know what to expect, so I step forward to unlock the door.

Hudson steps in front of me.

“Hudson, what are you doing? Let me unlock the d—”

He drops to his knees in front of me, hikes up my skirt just enough to reveal my panties, pushes them to the side and shoves his tongue between my lips, assaulting my clit.

I gasp and look around frantically. There’s no one in the hallway, but anyone could walk by at any moment.

“Worried someone will see?” Hudson looks up at me, but continues his onslaught.

“People will be coming back from parties soon, Hudson!” I moan in between my words. It’s so hard to focus on speaking when his amazing mouth is working on me like that, his tongue swirling around my clit, tasting every inch.
