“Oh, honey, I am sorry this happened to your father.” I put my hand on Terrek’s thigh to offer comfort while he buried his face in his hands in sorrow.
“Thank you for telling us. We need to take Terrek to our room so he can process the news.” Flame said as she logged Terrek’s mother’s name into her wrist communicator.
“Tora is a beautiful name, Terrek. We will find your mom,” I whispered as he stoically stood up, and we went to our room.
“My purple love, I will find your mother.” Flame vowed to prioritize another mission.
“I will meet you two back in our room. I need to check on a few things.” Flame kissed me, then gave Terrek a sweet, long, lingering kiss.
“I am so sorry for your loss, my love; I wish I could have met your father.” Flame softly said as she reluctantly pulled away.
The slow walk to our assigned room was blurry as I silently supported Terrek. He was sad and recovering. There were two smaller beds in this room. This unit felt foreign, and I felt homesick for my lost ship. I put on a brave face and guided Terrek to our bed.
Terrek was heartbroken by the news of his father and worried about his mother. He softly cried in my arms and told me about the last moments he remembered with his father. I just wanted to comfort him and support him through the pain.
I was grateful he was alive, and that was everything then. Pulling back the thin bedding, we settled on one of the beds. I wrapped my body around him and gently scratched his body, landing kisses on his arm as we lay there until we fell asleep.
I woke up to Terrek’s gentle kiss.
“I love my sweet Darah, but I must get up to relieve myself,” he said with puffy eyes.
I moved off the bed so he could get up to use the bathroom. Rubbing my eyes and yawning, I stretched, noticing Flame was not here yet.
“What time is it?” I asked.
“I am not sure; I think Flame is still working. She does too much, especially after that battle. We should go find her.” Terrek said as he went to get dressed.
“Agreed, she needs to be with us. We all need to be together.” I said as we left the room.
I felt guilty for sleeping all snuggled up next to Terrek as Ember continued to work. I assumed she would be joining us shortly after we laid down. I should have known better.
A guard stood outside in the hall by our door.
“Empress Darah of Laverian, Commander Flame of Gia, has assigned me to keep you safe. I am officer Stella of Gia.” The tall brunette female said.
“Officer Stella, can you please take us to Commander Flame?”
We followed behind Stella as she led the way through the massive ship to an area where viewing screens and holographs were displayed on every wall and table. Flame sat at a table with several other high-ranking beings. One male was another cyborg. He was plugged into the port on the table.
I was dizzy with all the star maps and displays showing different ships, moons, and planets.
Another female with stern features used her fingers to zoom in on the display in front of herself and Flame.
“These evil beings are vile; look, there are more prisons in this system over here.” The stern-looking woman showed Flame.
“I see the horror of evil all over this universe. However, we must focus on our mission and return our rescued. We must fortify our borders and reinforce protection barriers around our galactic universe. We cannot invade deeper into the Kanenites universe, at least not anytime soon.” Flame said to the irritated female.
“I am sorry to interrupt, but my mate has not yet rested after her battle. I insist it’s time for Flame to have her sleep cycle.” Terrek announced firmly.
Flame turned towards Terrek and me; her face softened, and her tired eyes smiled when she saw us.
Flame stood to pull us into a big hug. “I am so happy to see you up and healthy,” she said to Terrek, kissing him deeply.
“We missed you in our bed,” I whispered as I kissed her next.
“I know I got held up, but I promise to return to our room shortly. Please head back. I will be right there without delay this time.” Flame winked.
“MMM, female, you better hurry,” Terrek growled and smacked Flame’s sexy ass as she walked away.
