“Emily, hi,” I say, coming to a stop in front of her. Her gaze shifts from her book to me. The most beautiful pair of blue eyes stare up at me. Making my dick surge to life. Holy fuck, Emily is even more gorgeous in person.

“Russell, hi.” Her smile steals the breath from my lungs. I am so screwed. Those pretty blues drink me in. “Wow, you’re hot.” The red in her cheeks let me know she didn’t mean to say that out loud.

“You’re pretty hot too.” I wink at her. Making those cheeks burn brighter. “Is this all of your stuff?” I ask, needing to change the subject before I flip her over this pile of suitcases and fuck her right in the middle of this airport.

“This is everything,” she says, slinging her bag over her shoulder.

I collect her bags then say, “Miss Fitzpatrick, your chariot awaits.” This makes her giggle, and it’s the sweetest sound. Makes me wonder what other sounds I can get her to make. Down, boy.

Russell is singing along with the radio. He’s off key, but so damn cute. Cute is the wrong word to describe Russell. Ruggedly handsome doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface with Russell McCoy either. He’s beautiful and sexy with that chiseled jawline and sculpted muscles. He looks like he stepped out of a Danielle Steele or Jackie Collins novel. That mustache. I don’t even like mustaches, but on Russell it’s so damn sexy. I want to know what it would feel like all over my body. An image of Russell with his head between my legs. The tickle of his mustache on my inner thighs while he goes down on me pops in my head. Making me squirm in my seat. He is the hottest man I have ever seen. I have seen plenty of men on my travels. None of them compare to the man who is singing next to me.

This is absolutely insane. I’ve only known this man for less than an hour, and he has my world turned upside down. Those deep brown eyes and that lopsided grin have my body going wild with need. I want to climb that broad six foot three frame and ride that sexy face of his. Feel that mustache over every inch of my body. Calm down, Emily. Sleep depravation has gotten the better of me. I’m sure of it. A nap and a cold shower and I will be back to normal.

We pull up to the house and I am in awe of the single story ranch. It’s white with black shutters and a stone path leading to the front door. Russ hops out of the car and it at my door in a blink of an eye. He opens the door and holds out his hand. I slide my hand in his and an electrical current zaps through me. Russ must feel it too because he lets out a shuttered breath. I think I hear him whisper so fucked. He releases my hand to go retrieve my bags from the trunk.

I follow Russ up to the front door. “Wow, I’m amazed Sammy has kept those rose bushes alive.” The bushes along the front of the house are flourishing with bright pink flowers. Even the lawn is lush and green.

“That would be my green thumb,” Russ proudly states. I should have known Sammy had some help. We grew up with nannies, chefs, maids, and landscapers who did everything for us. I had to teach myself to cook when I went to college.

“They are beautiful.” I catch Russ’ lips twitch with a grin as I pass him and step into the house. “This is a bachelor pad.” I giggle, taking in the bare living room. There’s a couch, a TV, and a bookshelf with a few books and a tape deck on the top two shelves. A mountain of tapes live on the third shelf.

A deep chuckle comes from behind me. “Yeah, I may have a green thumb, but I was unfortunate in the interior design department.” Russ sets my bags down near the door while I step further into the house. The dining room is just as bare. Just a table and chairs. I think my housewarming present for Sam is going to be a decorator. Give some life to this place.

“Are you hungry?” Russ asks. He brushes past me on his way to the kitchen. The slight touch sends a shiver through me. What is going on with me? Men have never had this effect on me. None of them were Russell, it seems.

“Starved. All I’ve had to eat is some airplane peanuts and terrible coffee.” I shrug off my jacket and hang it over one of the dining chairs.

“Pancakes, waffles, French toast, maybe omelets?” Every suggestion that he makes sounds so good. Making my stomach rumble with hunger.

“Pancakes sound amazing. Can we have bacon?” at the mention of bacon my stomach growls in anticipation.

“What the lady wants, the lady gets.” Russ smiles as he washes his hands in the sink. Why don’t you go put some tunes on while I get started.”

I turn on my heels and head back into the living. Russ has a massive music collection. Everything from blues to pop. My eyes catch a tape that makes me smile. I pop the tape in the stereo, then press play. The opening cords of Sweet Child of Mine play through the speakers.

“I love this song,” Russ calls out from the kitchen. Making me smile. It’s my favorite too.

“Can I help with anything?” I offer, stepping back into the kitchen. Russ nods, stepping away from the sink so I can wash up too. He goes to the pantry and takes out ingredients for the pancakes. When I turn away from the sink, I’m met with the amazing sight of a big burly firefighter wearing a frilly floral apron. All I can do is giggle. He is so freaking adorable.

“If you think this one looks good, wait until you see yours.” He reaches into the pantry and pulls out another apron. This one has lace and little kittens on it. “I don’t allow anyone in my kitchen without an apron,” he says. I can’t imagine Sam wearing an apron. I never thought I would see a guy like Russell in one either. Life is full of surprises. I slip the loop over my head and Russell helps tie it around my waist. The slide of his fingers along my waist sends bolts of pleasure straight to my core. I am going to need a very long, cold shower after breakfast.

We fall into an easy rhythm, moving around the kitchen like we have been doing this together for years. Our singing and laughter fill the kitchen. This is the most fun I have had making a meal before. I am so lost in what we are doing I don’t hear Sam enter the kitchen.

“Emily, what are you doing here?” he shouts over the music. I let out a high pitch squeal. In my excitement at seeing my brother, I launch the spatula in my hand into the air. Russell catches it mid air as I run to hug my brother.

Sam gives me a big bear hug that lifts me off my feet. He sets me back down, then takes a step back to get a look at me. “I thought you weren’t coming for another week.”

“Well, plans changed when mom tried marrying me off to one of her rich friend’s asshole sons.”

“Oh Em, I am so sorry she did that to you. I’m glad you left. It’s time they realize they can’t control our lives anymore.” Movement from the hallway catches my eye. Out from the shadows, a pretty brunette comes walking out, and she stops at my brother’s side. I look at my brother and see his beaming face as he looks at the woman.

“Emily, this is my girlfriend, Maxine. Maxine, this is my sister Emily,” he introduces us. Wait did he just say girlfriend?

“When did this happen? The last time we spoke, you were still single.” To say I am surprised by this news would be an understatement. After the whole mess with his ex girlfriend, Sam swore off women. Maxine must be one hell of an amazing woman.
