Placing one hand behind her head, he drew her down into his kiss. “First time for everything, isn’t there?”

As she started moving again, slower, then faster, he moved his finger over her clit, driving her up higher and higher until she screamed, clenching down on his cock.

He reached his own release, his yell drowning out hers as he found his release.

Breathing heavily, he grabbed her, pulling her into his embrace, still buried inside her. He knew he had to pull out, to take care of his condom, but he just needed to hold her for a moment while they both calmed down.

“That was the best fucking orgasm I’ve ever had,” he whispered to her as he ran his hand up and down her back.

She stiffened. “You don’t have to lie to me.”

“Baby girl, I don’t lie. Ever. Fucking hate liars.”

If possible, she grew even more tense. He slid out of her and rolled them both onto their sides. “Something wrong?”

“It’s just . . . sometimes a lie isn’t a choice, you know?” she whispered.

“Uh, no. I don’t know. A lie is always a choice. And it’s wrong.”

What was she talking about?

Then she shook her head and smiled up at him. “Of course. You’re right. Lying is always wrong.”

“Got to take care of this.” He walked into the bathroom and got rid of the condom, glancing back as she moved up behind him, wrapping her arms around his waist.

“Sorry. I didn’t mean to make anything weird.”

“You didn’t.” He turned and hugged her against him tight. Something felt off, but he shook that thought away. He noticed that she’d pulled his top on.

Fuck, he liked that.

“Come on. Come back to bed.” He slid away and grabbed her hand to lead her back to the bedroom.

“I can’t.”

He frowned.

“I’ve got to pee,” she whispered.

“I’ll wait for you in bed, then.”

When she climbed in a few minutes later, he tugged her to him, pulling her against him so her head rested on his chest.

“You okay, baby? None of that was too much?”

She sighed sadly. “Where did you come from, Tanner Malone?”

He laughed. “A strange place called Haven.”

“Really? That’s the name of the town?”

“Yep. And it lives up to its name. It really is a haven for the majority of the people that live there.”

“You too?” she asked.

He ran his hand up and down her back. “In a way, it was for my family too. My oldest brother had to get us out of a dangerous situation. We moved to Haven, where he bought a ranch. I still live and work on the Ranch along with some of my brothers.”

“How many do you have?”
