I smiled while looking at Brielle and had my mom on speakerphone. “I did. And I have other news.”

“What is it?”

“Brielle is pregnant.”

“What? Are you kidding me? I’m gonna be a grandma?”

I laughed. “You are.”

“Oh my gosh, I’m so happy for you both.”

“Also, she is quitting her job and coming onto the team as a consultant for the company.”

“That’s even better news as long as she is happy with that.”

“She is.”

“Then I’m happy too. She’ll be a great asset here.”

“Yes, she will.”

“I can’t wait,” Brielle said aloud.

“I wish you both were here for me to hug you both.” Mom was overjoyed.

“We’ll be there soon. Brielle is waiting for her replacement to get here.”

“Okay, then I’ll have you over for dinner.”

“Sounds good, mom. Talk to you later.”

“Son.”

“Yeah?”

“I’m proud of you for becoming the man you are.”

Tears welled up in my eyes. “Thank you.”

“Bye, Brielle. Son. Love you both.”

“Love you too.”

I pressed end on my phone and sat it down. “Come here,” I said, pulling Brielle into me and kissed the top of her head as she wrapped her arms around my waist. “I love you so much.”

“I love you.” She leaned her head up, and I kissed her.

EPILOGUE

BRIELLE

“I’d like to make a toast before the partying starts,” Jameson said with a smile, raising a bottle of beer.

We were currently celebrating the grand opening of Jameson’s second location of Brews & Bats. Everyone we knew was in attendance. This location was twice the size of the original one.

Everyone turned their attention to Jameson. I stood next to him as he held our nine-month-old daughter, Brynlynn. He was a doting dad, and Bryn was a total daddy’s girl.

He had grown out his beard, he looked sexier than ever and it wasn’t fair. But I watched him proudly as he made his speech.
