“What the fuck do you want?”

I felt bad for the caller.

I watched his hand dig through his hair before his brows furrowed and his jaw hardened. His next statement was both disappointing and frightening.

“Shit. I'll be there immediately.”

The software development team encountered a slight issue with the biomedical project.

We had successfully completed the robotic surgery system. This system contains advanced software that ensures smooth operation during surgery.

The system wasn't compromised. It was perfectly fine. But what annoyed me was that this emergency could have been avoided. Fuck. They made me leave a critical business with a damn boner.

Now, I'd been driving for almost twenty minutes, and my dick refused to understand the change in the situation.

“How bad is it?”

Real bad. My boner didn't seem like it’d go down soon. I frowned when I realized she wasn't talking about my dick.

“It's… something minor but could potentially lead to a setback.”

I saw her nod from my peripheral view. “What is it?”

“The biomedical project.”

“Oh.” Her exclamation sounded like her moans. Fuck.

I still didn't know whether to be angry or grateful at the interruption. But one thing I knew was that she wanted it. A part of me had expected her usual freezing reaction when I pushed myself into her, but she’d surprised me.

She wanted it. But was this what I wanted? To live with the guilt of doing that to my best friend’s daughter? I had to be rational. Logic before emotions.

“The software team needs my biometric to access sensitive data. They want to run a quick update on the existing framework.”

“Oh. The project that’s due for tomorrow.” Her voice was even lower as she placed both hands on her thighs. It was more a statement than a question.

When I caught sight of how the slit had ridden up her thighs— the same thighs I’d caressed. I restrained the urge to yank her over my thigh and fuck her till dawn.

I ran a hand through my hair. I wanted to know how she felt. Was she also mad at the situation? Or was she thankful that, yet again, it was a near miss?

Heck, I didn't even know how I felt. Perhaps torn was the word. All this… was wrong, I knew. But why did it feel so right?

Good things come at a cost. The question is, are you willing to take the risk?”

I finally turned into the parking lot. The moon had eaten up the sun, and its light shone very brightly when I exited the car.

I briefly glanced at my wristwatch. It was fourteen minutes past nine. I let her walk in before me as I trailed behind her.

Resisting her ass was a struggle, but there were other things to tend to. We entered the building and got to the elevator. The doors opened on the floor that held the conference room.

That's where they were.

I reached the room with long strides. When they saw me, they rose to bow. I nodded.

“We’re sorry for calling at this time, but we didn't know there would be a need to access this data tonight. We’ve attempted to bypass the security using a placeholder, but all attempts have been rejected.” George spoke.
